  1. It all depends on how bad of a tear. I agree it's not a joke, but it's not necessarily a season ending injury anymore. When I had knee surgery for a meniscus tear 10 years ago I was in and out of surgery the same day with just two small holes in my knee. This was even after they discovered a complication. Apparently I had a ton of scar tissue under my knee cap (from a hockey injury 5 years before) which they needed to scrape. I was walking without crutches in 3 days and was pretty much healed after 4 weeks of physical therapy. I was never a professional, but I started skating and playing again after 5 weeks. I'm hoping for the best.
