Bryan
Anybody else think this is the worst idea since Cooper Pants? It makes their heads look huge and is such a distraction from the sweaters. Might be just me but I doubt it.
Quinn01
Yeah we were just talking about it in the NHL News and Happenings topic. IMO they are going for that "European" look. Plus the size of the numbers arent the same throughout the teams. Philly's numbers were so much bigger then the ones on Bostons helmets. I liked the numbers in the back of the helmets but the front....not sure about I guess itll have to grow on me. Random Poster
The numbers on the front of the helmets are to aid on-ice officials and photographers in identifying players.
Bryan
Wow. I thought the numbers on the sleeves, backs, helmet backs, and sometimes pockets would be all they needed.
Chorske17
Anybody else think this is the worst idea since Cooper Pants? Please throw in there ahead of this in random order. 1. The Reebok Edge jersey 2. The heated skate 3. Home jerseys NOT being White 4. Sean Avery being allowed to wave his stick in Brodeur face without a call. 5. Some guy named Gary Bettman 6. The random amount of days a player is suspended for headshots. 7. NO more Old Time Hockey 8. Fox Trax puck 9. The EXCESSIVE price one has to pay for ANY food or beverage at any arena. 10. Those damn people who try to sell me cigars and chances to win a free Mutha facking cruise who are right beside the Devils Fan club area.

Legion15
I liked the Fox Puck , I guess it would get a little annoying seeing it all the time though.
'7'
it's stupid. I mean you have teams with numbers on the front of the helmet, back of the helmet, back of the jersey, left sleeve, right sleeve, upper right corner of the jersey How about not being a fvcking idiot and just identifying the player on sight? Legion15
it's like why don't they have a Sims-like holographic projection of their number floating above their heads? might as well...

Joe B
eh.. no one will even notice this by December 2'rd period tops it's stupid. I mean you have teams with numbers on the front of the helmet, back of the helmet, back of the jersey, left sleeve, right sleeve, upper right corner of the jersey How about not being a fvcking idiot and just identifying the player on sight? many players stand out without the need to look at a number(especially in the pre-helmet days)but there are quite a few that look close and some teams numbers kind of blend. I will reserve judgement till I see it in person though.

SatansDevils
50/50 with this. It really does not bother me and it really does not look all that bad. Its just a number on a helmet just like it was on the back now on the front which is easier for the announcers, writers and fans to see who that particular player is if they cannot see the jersey number.
