Okay, now that the complete and total NONSENSE that was that entire game is over: Can we talk about the decision to keep shooting the fvcking puck during the 3rd period PP with 1 minute left?

Wouldn't logic dictate that since you outnumber your opponent, you should just play catch with the puck rather than giving them an opportunity to ever control it and thus ever score? You're already winning and while 2 goals totally ices the game, you don't NEED that goal.

I was going insane when they kept setting Kovalchuk up for one-timers. Just... STOP SHOOTING. PLAY KEEP AWAY.

Am I alone in this crowd?

Yes, Yes and Yes. I think, if anything they were too conservative. They played it safe with two defenseman and took Kovy off. That is as safe as it should get. But still try to finish it, or what ended up happening could easily happened again. They score and the game is over. The tying goal had nothing to do with being too aggressive. They kind of backed off and let Ottawa break out.

Score on the PP and the game is over.

No, I think mikeford is right, they should have played keep away. It was risky to do as they were doing - I know they wanted to get another goal, but they risked giving one up playing that way. Then the ref put his whistle away hilariously and there it is.

Tallinder getting hauled down directly led to the turnover...he gets that puck, and he's probably able to eat up the remainder of regulation. Comical officiating.

Yeah but our PP sucks.

I believe this marks the first time you and I have ever agreed on anything.

Landmark day for the board.

Granted, this is the first time you have come to the board after a win.

Haha, I think I have to award the point to dr33 on this one.

NJ's PP has been very good the last few games, although why Ottawa was playing a passive box, I am not sure

DeBoer needs to speak with Lemaire about what to do with a one goal lead, a pp and 60 seconds left in the game.

Enjoy!

I'm on my way back from the game Ken. Didn't see you there

You've got a long, long way to go to support this team like i have over 26 years, including 10 years as an STH and Gold Circle member. Then again you've got a long way to go with alot of things.

I'll be there on the 16th. Will you?
