Brodeur Remains Devils’ Gatekeeper

5 posts in this topic

Pushing 40

As if the Devils always need to be reminded of their glory days, replicas of their three Stanley Cup banners hang above their practice rink. It seems hard to believe the first of those Cups came nearly 17 years ago, the last almost nine years ago.Martin Brodeur is 31st among goaltenders with a 2.77 goals-against average, and his save percentage this season is 89.4.

If it happens on ice and it involves hitting and scoring, The Times's Slap Shot blog is on it.Martin Brodeur, the 39-year-old goaltender who helped the Devils win all three Cups, returned to the ice Monday afternoon after taking five days off because of the All-Star break. He took his customary spot in front of the goal on the right and practiced for 90 minutes.
