Triumph
Monday 2/25 NCAA Wisconsin lost to Penn State 3-2 (OT) Joe Faust D: E, 2 PIM (Interference), 1 Shot Season: 32 GP 1-0-1 +1 14 PIM 4.16 SH% 0.75 SH/GP Watched this game and went into it not expecting much from Faust and that's what I saw. He's a junior and still hasn't worked his way off the 3rd pair nor does he recieve any special teams time and I don't recall seeing him in OT. Faust didn't seem very mobile, especially laterally, and often seemed as if he was a step behind the play. There were also a few instances where he got overpowered by an opposing forward along the boards in a puck battle. When he had time and space he made the right read or pass but that is to be expected for a 3rd year defensemen at that level. 2 bad plays that stand out: 1. 1st Period: Got caught staring at the puck just inside his blue line on the wing and nearly forgot about his man coming into the zone and driving the net. Faust panicked and tied the player up thus taking a penalty. Wisconsin was able to kill off the PP. 2. 3rd Period: Right after Faust is on for a Wisconsin goal that he didn't contribute to, he turns the puck over at his blue line off the ensuing faceoff from center ice and Penn State gets a quick goal. Faust got completely owned on the play and Penn State went own to get the next two goals for the victory. He has another season to play at Wisconsin but I can't imagine him getting a contract from the Devils with the defensive depth they have and his performance. I forgot to comment on this - it's really too bad New Jersey and Faust probably won't come to an agreement.... because that would be...a Devil's bargain. SterioDesign
Boucher got 3 assists t'night but not goal, still chasing Stamkos record. 6 games to score 1 goal to tie Stamkos (well we want him to score 2 to beat him you know)

There's a long history of Saraults who haven't made the NHL (Justin Azevedo, Brad Moran, and the list continues) - just about anyone who's worthwhile as an NHL prospect is already in the AHL at Sarault's age. Triumph
thats absolutely not what i meant there Fine, but Saraults come and go. We won't hear a peep when he puts up 20 points per 80 games next year in the AHL, that is if he even makes the AHL team.

Of course he may not need that at all but unless he would have been a liability for Albany why not, we don't have that much talent down there on the offence. he proved that he doesnt need "another guy" by continuing to produce and never missed a beat when Galchenyuk left Edited March 4, 2013 by SterioDesign

At some point he has to leave behind his AHL teammates. And if he has success at the NHL level, he'll have to leave behind his most successful linemates there too. And if he has trouble transitioning to pro hockey, that is on him - it's a business that doesn't placate people. Succeed or else.

Derlique
What's the knock on Boucher? Has a great shot, but doesnt do much else. Not a great passer, not great vision and poor defensively. His absolute ceiling is probably Michael Ryder
