That's the thing about Carter-Gionta-Bernier - they forecheck really well and cycle really well. It's just very difficult for them to establish the cycle and they get caught in their own zone too much.

I don't think they get caught nearly as much as you are making it sound. If anything I think the spend more of their time in the offensive zone with the puck than in their zone without it. I know Deboer doesn't match lines but I've noticed that the cbgb line does a great job against opposing teams top lines. I remember against the rangers, the Nash, Richards, gaborik line being stuck in their own zone several times when the lines were out against each other
