That's the problem with Marty this year, it's either a good game or a trainwreck.  You literally don't know which you're getting at the puck drop.

Except they're still playing him in the Winter Classic.  And I doubt they're going to let him sit for a week before then either.

Sometimes you don't even know within the game what he's going to do. He made a great save on the last great chance by Phoenix. Then a soft goal.

I'm not a goalie coach by any stretch... but it seems that he is not picking the puck up as well this year as in years past. The last two goals are good examples as well as the the one against Montreal. If there's a stick or body anyone near the play he seems to really struggle stopping them.

Marty plays much more like a butterfly goalie as in he challenges and makes himself big, whereas he used to be much more of a reaction goalie. Don't know if the reflexes are going with age or with a lack of confidence?

I mean, he's over 40 freakin years old. It's not hard to believe that his reflexes have gone a bit by now.

This reluctance to play our best team, goalie in particular, could easily cost us our playoff spot.

Love Mark Fayne's defensive game... Gotta work on his shot. For a big strong dude his shot is SOOO limp. Never goes through.

Pete needs to fvcking go, im just so fvcking sick to my stomach by these decisions.

I find it hard to believe that any other coach in this league survives the kind of decision making Pete is guilty of.

Starting to like clowe. Hope his egg shell holds up.

yea i have to admit i was pretty down on clowe for most of the season..before he got hurt i thought he looked like crap but since hes been back i think hes looked pretty great for the most part playing a strong physical game

Theyre not.pulling marty, though the goals he gave up shouldve been stopped by any goalie, at any skill level.

If peter harrold starts making his way into this lineup when he's healthy I might really lose my sh!t.

I was the same, he's been our most productive forward IMO since coming back.

Pete and Lou set themselves up for this and people should have seen this coming a mile away.  It should be considered a fireable offense (among other things). Brodeur should have been told on Day 1 that he's the #2 goaltender. Like it, lump it or retire. Not this 1A and B nonsense. It was bad enough to even think that, let alone say it. By doing so, it just let the 500 lb gorilla in the room overrule what's best for the team. This should have been put to bed in September.

Bad penalty. But Brodeur has to squeeze that puck. Another softy. The puck was right there. Squeeze it for the whistle

Do you really want Marty in goal for the Stadium game?

Don't we want to win that game?

He's getting it because he's Martin Brodeur. Of course we'd rather have a real goalie in there but it's a legacy game. Nothing you can do about it
