Everyone here seems to understand its a sponsorship deal and nobody seems to be losing their minds over it. Doesn't mean I have to like my coffee coming in a cup with a Rags symbol on it. Can't speak for those on FB or people at the game though. However, I would agree with the girl and what others here have already said. If its pisses you off that much, make your displeasure known the only way you can - stop buying their products. People posted about boycotting DD. That seems like more than a bit of an overreaction. There was someone in one of the FB groups who recently complained about Devils stuff being sold in Walmart and was trying to connect that to somehow the team being either cheap or being bad enough to not be worthy of being sold in placed like Modell's or Dicks. It was also a giant roundabout way of trying to take a jab at he owners.

I'd like Devils stuff to be sold everywhere, more stuff on more fans equals more good, as far as I am concerned.

You or I might not want to take that course, but it doesn't make it wrong or an overreaction. In instances like this, voting with your wallet is one of the only ways for Devils fans to truly voice their displeasure to DD. If that's what fans want to do, so be it. DD takes the risk of alienating people when they enter into sponsorships like this. Nobody should be crying for them if they lose some business because of it. I can tell you that I don't want to look at that sh!t in my office or car, so I would have asked for another cup or box if one was available. Am I overreacting?

It's a disposable coffee cup that will be thrown out as soon as you finish it. Me, personally, I don't make spending decisions over who my favorite sports teams enter into sponsorship deals with. If I went that far, I would be pulling money out of my bank now and instead go right over to Investor's bank.
Chuck the Duck
My point is simply that it's a personal decision that people make. What may seem like an overreaction to you, might not to others. I don't shop based upon team sponsorships either. But if I'm spending money on a product, I don't want to have to look at something that makes me want to puke as part of its packaging. I don't care if it's a coffee cup, or a toaster.
MadDog2020
That's what a lot of fans are trying to angle it as. I am not pointing the finger at anyone here with this, but this was a huge deal for many in the FB groups last week as well as fans around me when I was at the game last week. I am not kidding, there was a girl standing near me during warmups who was telling her friend about it and saying she is never going to DD again and that she hates them forever. Yeah I mean it's business, I get that- it's the indignity of going to a DD in the middle of North Jersey, which is Devils Country, and getting served coffee in a cup with a fvcking Rags logo on it. It's annoying is all. It is what it is, but it's just irritating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Derlique
Yup, they have them in Morris County. I gave the dude who made the coffee a little ribbing and he replied, "I know, this sucks, I'm a Devils fan!".
MadDog2020
I would imagine this pertains to DD's out on LI, so Isles fans probably have to deal with it too. This is what fans in one team markets will never understand about the dynamic here and why we hate the Rags as much as we do. Not necessary for northern NJ. I think I'll boycott that chain until they're eliminated. Its all over in Ny. Def not boycotting the chain because of a promo, simply blacking out the logo and drawing a devils one....quick fix. Islander fans just black out the logo, or write sucks after or under it Edited March 24, 2017 by bobilly45
NJDevils1214
Lol I'm down with this. I forgot we had discussed this and got a coffee last week. Took a sharpie to the Rags logo and I won't go until they get new stuff. The doughnut box's have a huge Rags logo on it. fvck that.

TBH until I joined this board I didn't realize how much Devils fans hate the Rangers. You always hate your division rivals to a degree but it is more I find. Makes sense, I actually used to hate the Yankees (I don't really anymore) from all the way out west just because they were the big team that could buy what they wanted and I saw them as a threat to the integrity of MLB. I think even fans of western teams, say Denver teams, they gun for NY teams and want to see their guys go in there and beat the big city team on their turf.

All I will say to those who are outraged by this is the same thing I hear when I talk about knockoff jerseys; just deal with it. Also Devils have a sponsorship deal with Tim Horton's, who is DD's biggest competitor. This is an issue about respect for our state and our institutions, don't try to equate it to your brand-name shirt crusade. I immediately boycott anything that promotes Rangers stuff in Jersey. You wouldn't see it in Boston or Philly, it shouldn't be in Jersey. I went into my favorite bar back home in Ocean County about a month ago to find they'd hung a Rangers jersey behind the bar. And they had the balls to have other Jersey themed memorabilia on the walls. I'll NEVER go back.

mfitz804
If you ask for a different cup, that's fine. If you're so outraged that you want to boycott a business, that's crazy. For what it's worth, I ain't drinking out of a Rangers cup either. But I don't drink coffee anyway, and I'd still go for a doughnut. 4 hours ago, DevsMan84 said: I think a little bit.
