"It's like being at an amusement park, on a very big rollercoaster, you know? A lot of ups - well not as many ups but a lot of downs."

Speaking of Blackburn -

the DirecTV feed was the TSN feed from Canada, and they showed him when he went to the bench and it looked like he could hardly hold back the tears. And the announcers were saying that Blackburn should in no way be held responsible for this loss, that a 19 year old should never have been put in this situation (the whole year, basically). And they said that Messier said today that this game was "all on Blackburn's shoulders"!?!? What??? What about the veterans who didn't bother to show up for this game? No protection for Blackburn at all tonight. What a bunch of losers. I felt sorry for Blackburn.

Sather is evil. He may have single-handedly destroyed a promising young career. Mess has some goddamned nerve putting the game on the kid's shoulders. There are a lot of other players to put this loss on, not Blackburn. Did Holik play? Oh yeah, he took the penalty that resulted in a goal.

He won't be able to "grow" if he doesn't have help up front. Best thing for him would be to play elsewhere although the Rags have put some disdain on him now. Nice remark by Cromag. Guess he didn't have enough confidence in himself, as captain or his other teammates.

Too bad, I actually respect the kid since he did handle the enormous pressure that was put on him with Dunham being out. He should not be the scapegoat for this loss, the veteran star players should look in the mirror to see didn't show up, Leetch excluded.
