32 posts in this topic

The San Diego Chargers, looking for more offensive firepower, acquired wide receiver Chris Chambers from the Miami Dolphins, sources told ESPN.com's John Clayton.

Terms of the deal weren't immediately known, but the Dolphins and Chargers are expected to make an announcement before the NFL trading deadline closes at 4 p.m. ET.

WOW.

This is saying that the Phins are done for the season. What a key trade for the Chargers...They get a GOOD WR NUMBER 2, who can be a Capable number one.

This trade should definately help them to get more help on the Passing game.

eh, they DO get a second round pick from this

and this is a sign that it's out with the old and finally in with the new... they need to do that in Miami big time!

See I disagree there... there is a LOT of crap in Miami right now and they need to start the gutting process and a good pick for Chambers is a decent return and now they can really start to make a team right... Brown is still young and they can build on that and Beck and Ginn... and go from there...

They lost to the Jets too :P

South Florida could beat the Dolphins. Then again South Florida could probably beat the Jets too

Laugh at me as hard as you want.. but the Dolphins break 500 next year. If they can finally get Beck some reps, or even without him, get Ginn some reps, they will do fine. Who knows, maybe (reigning DPoY) Jason Taylor will stick around, while it is apparent Zach Thomas is headed out. Draft some defense.. the offense is there, the line is there, the star running back is there... some defense and this team isn't half bad.

Chris Chambers had had potential for what, 7 years now??? Forget it, good job getting a 2nd rounder for a guy who will not factor into their future...Miami needs a major overhaul and this is a good place to start.

Yep. LOTCB's got it. Chambers stinks, and the Chargers are going to find that out the hard way.

They needed a receiver though - so I like the trade for both sides. The Chargers are deluded if they think they're getting a top wideout - Chambers would need a lot of reps and practice just to hold their jocks.

On the contrary. Chambers has been decent to good the past seven years, and the BEST quarterback he's had throwing to him was Gus Ferrotte... now what can he do with a good quarterback, and basically the entire defense worrying about LT. He'll be good... maybe better.

Chambers has consistently been at the bottom of the league in catch rate - that's passes caught/passes thrown to. His teammates have often been better, so it's not just been the awful QBs. He runs bad routes and drops the ball a fair amount too.

When was the last time Chambers had a legit QB and offensive team around him to be in a chance to make good plays... Jay Fiedler... Cleo Lemon !?!?!? Dante last year !??!?! Come on... he's gonna be MUCH better by nature of the team and offense he is going to!
