Sounds legit.

I guess we'll know soon when TSN confirms in the early morning.

Best quote...

"And I also want to say to the people like Mike Milbury who made their living by criticizing me all the time, that they can kiss my [butt]."

Well good luck to him, sure, the guy was a ranger and a head-case at times, but growing up he was one of the greatest hockey players of my generation.

Good for Jagr.

Where else was he going to play with a chance to win?

Edmonton? Please. Nobody wants to go there.

Once Sather slammed the door shut, it was clear Jagr was going overseas.

Jaromir Jagr signed with a Russian team a day after his split with the New York Rangers, returning to the club he joined during the NHL's 2004-05 lockout.

The Russian League team Avangard Omsk announced the signing of the 36-year-old Czech winger on its Web site Friday. Jagr's agent, Pat Brisson, confirmed the signing in an e-mail, but wouldn't comment on contract terms.

anyone else think the rangers are missing a lot more than they seem to think without having jagirl to control the puck like he does? i personally think the rangers have gotten worse with their signings compared to who they let go this FA period

Really pathetic. The guy is not even worth half that price.

The Russian League has the money to cherry-pick marquee players like Jaromir and they've succeeded in taking one of the NHL's all time best players in history.

They don't care if American's think the price tag is ridiculous or not. They know who and what they want.

I wonder what Bettman and his league of clowns think about all this?

They can NOT be happy because Jagr has left the building.

God speed, Jaromir.

You were and always will be one of the very best.

I agree 100%. People will realize how good/important Jagr was when the season starts.

as much as i hate jagr for the way he plays (unmotivated, lazy, ect.) i know he is a great hockey player. glad i don't have to deal with him anymore though.

i just can't wait to get some revenge on the idiot rags fans next season who thought their team was good. i'm sure everyone here knows these people. the ones who think the wade redden/naslund signing was a great idea.

So they're paying one lazy Slav a huge amount of money to outperform all of the other lazy Slavs! When does Elias get to join?

And yes, I am Slavic, but am not a fan of our hockey players.

I liked Jagr tremendously as a player. You didn't.

We agree to disagree on that.

As for the comment about Patty, when does his current contract run out? :whistling:

I just love stirring up s**t storms.

The rags will miss him bigtime...but they still did well filling out their roster. Naslund is still much better than anyone is giving him credit for. The guy is similar to Elias...his points don't reflect how good he is.

Jagr probably caught more crap than anyone over the years for doing nothing but producing. As strange of a guy he was...definitely one of the all time NHL greats. That being said, who wouldn't take that kind of money if it was offered? He'd be crazy not to.
