SC Devs Fan
A lucky break for New Jersey Devils' Holik http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2008/11...inger_to_i.html "When you have a bone coming through your skin, there's a tremendous chance of infection. (The doctor) said if it was any worse, I could've lost a finger," Holik revealed after stopping by the Devils' practice facility at the Prudential Center. "It wasn't just a broken finger. This was an open wound. Infection was a problem, the biggest worry the doctor had." Holik said the puck crushed his finger against his stick and the sight of blood is what forced him to leave the game. "Yes. That's why I went off the ice," he explained. "I was ticked off. We were having a good power play and I said, 'Damn, I've got to get stitches.' But I needed more than that."

SegaDevil
I love that hockey attitude. The guy didn't even think to look at his hand until he saw blood. If this was basketball, the player would need to be taken out on a stretcher.

Prucenterrules
I remember that. I couldn't stop laughing. It was funny when they made fun of him during the ESPY's.
Jerseydevils0324
Read this link about a college football player who had his pinkie amputated so he can finish off his senior year. Link
pattyelias
You know the Devils are having a tough year on the injury front when the 'lucky break' is a guy not having to get his finger amputated.
