Add a few more S's to the end of words and you would have had a perfect Toki Wartooth impression going on...

That first one is the only remotely original idea in the bunch, and even that one is rehashing old monster stories. Everything else is sequels, remakes and adaptations of old shows or games.

Hollywood is so out of ideas that it isn't even funny.

Agreed...nothing but remakes, sequeals and pure boredom from top to bottom. Lucikly, there are some good original movies still trickling out. Being it's awards sesason and all, films like Doubt, The Wrestler, Milk, and Slumdog Millionaire are starting to see wider releases.

Since I'm bored at work, here are my first impressions of the threads suggestions (this is in no way an attack on the thread starter...we may just have different tastes, that's all):

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans - Saw the first Underworld and it was a fun flick. Not exactly high art, but it was well done, the writing wasn't terrible and the action kept me interested. Didn't see the sequel but Hollywood loves ruining things in threes, so I'm doubting this one will be any good. Blade 3, anyone?

Friday the 13th - The orginal is a classic. This one is going to stink to high heaven. Director Marcus Nispel got lucky with his remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre but when your lead's claim to fame is a Teen Choice Award nomination for "House of Wax", your film is in trouble.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li - I love Street Fighter the same as the next guy, but do we need another bad adaptation of a video game? Michael Clark Duncan is going to play Balrog in this one...guess the riviting dialouge of "Arrggh! Arrgh!" convinced him to do it. That or the giant check they must've thrown at him.

Dragonball - Who cares...little man makes big fireball and the world goes BOOM. End of film.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - This one doesn't sound too bad. As superhero movies go, the X-Man franchise is one of the better ones, with the exception of X-Men 3 (Can't Magento just take a boat over to the island? Nooooo...he has to move a freaking bridge! Overdramatic dolt). It's a smart move too...take the most popular X-Man character and give him his own flick. Just worried that Patrick Stewart wont be in it and Ryan Renolyds will...again, Blade 3, anyone?

Star Trek - Well, the original was a hunk of junk, so I guess they can't do much worse remaking it. Problem is, the orginal Star Treks worked because they had a beloved cast. The cast of the remake looks about as charming as a line up of Al-Queda terrorists. I'll pass...

Fast and Furious - Wow, I thought this franchise was banished to the discount racks years ago! They should just send this straight to DVD and save themselves the embarassment.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Can't comment on this one too much as I never saw the orginal, but evidently it's required viewing if you have a Blue Ray player and like loud explosions. Not so much if you enjoy silly things like dialouge and character development.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Another year, another Harry Potter for the fanboys/girls out there. Hopefully, Daniel Radcliffe doesn't break a hip while flying his broom stick in thie one. How freaking old is this guy?? Maybe they'll quit on these sequels when the cast starts collecting Social Security. How Harry can still claim to be 14 and have a 5 O'Clock shadow is beyond me. A year ago he was complaing that nobody took him seriously when he played the lead in Eqqus and now he's back to pretending to be a pre-teen. Maybe think before you sign an 80 movie deal...douche.

GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra - The only thing that will save this movie is if all the characters behave the same way we used to play with the toys as kids. Instead of intense hand to hand combat, I want to see the actors flailing thier arms back and forth by turning at the waist and snapping back! Instead of realistic explosions, I want someone doing the sounds with thier mouth. And instead of a proper ending, I want the film to end abruptly with Mom yelling upstairs, telling everyone to wash up for dinner. Get it done, Hollywood!

Final Destination IV - Hot chicks dying in impossibly rediculous ways? Well, I could could think of worse ways to spend a Saturday night but sadly, the corny yet fun charm of the orginals have worn away to soft core porn and buckets of blood. Everytime I see one of these films, I root for the death of everyone in the cast, including the editor, the producer and the director. This one should be rated AOTA or "Anyone Other Than Adults".

Saw IV - The Saw franchise is one of the best examples of taking a smart, terrifying concept and streching it beyond any hint of plausibilty. There's a reason why James Wan gave up writing them after Saw III, gave up directing after the orginal yet kept producing them right up until Saw V. The man knows a cash cow when he sees it. Unfortunately, the viewing public doesn't get to see a good movie. I haven't seen any of them past Saw III, but the writing was on the wall with that one. If you want to get scared this Halloween, go Trick or Treating at that creepy guys house who always wants the kiddies to come inside. That's terror for you...

A Nightmare on Elm Street - What's with the remakes??? See my comments for Friday the 13th for this one.

Thundercats - Thundercats. Seriously?? How old are we??? Looks like 2009 will be the year of "childhood nostalgia" as all of America will be swooning for a glimpse of their long lost glory days. Pathetic....can't you tell I'm running out of steam? One more...

Warcraft - MMORPG comes to the big screen! Last time I checked, the fun of Warcraft was locking yourself in a room for 18 hours a day fighting other weirdos locked in their rooms for 18 hours a day. From what I understand, the story is rather secondary. Unless Blizzard Entertainment plans on installing controllers in the seats of every theatre it's released in, viewers are going to be disappointed in the result. That, and they are marketing this film for people who ever leave their homes to begin with...not a smart strategy.

I'm in the Wrestler as an extra and I've seen the ending already. The wrestling match looked cheesy as fvck and it didn't impress me all that much but I've heard it got good reviews. I'm only going to see myself in the movie though lol.

This is what they need:

If you didnt mind the first one , the second one is actually pretty decent also, its a good continuation of the story.

The third one is going to struggle with no origonal main cast of charaters.
