Edwards has been a disaster for the Jets during his brief tenure. Playoffs aside, do they keep him next year?

Not for big money. He hasn't quite been a disaster but he's definitely undependable.

I guess undependable is more accurate. It seems once a game he blows a major play by just dropping the ball.

That was always the knock on him. He's always among the league leaders in drops. If I'm the Jets I'd consider making a run at Boldin or Marshall before Edwards.

sanchez gets destroyed today. just my opinion.

A new NFL record. *Mark Sanchez.. 80% Highest Completion Percentage by a rookie QB (playing his first playoff game) in league history! smiley-cool06.gif

If only Edwards didn't drop that easy TD the SANCHIZE would be damn near perfect

he made every damn throw they asked of him today. And if it wasn't for BS pro Bengal officiating and our lack of a punter...the Jets would've won this game by 17 or more. It really wasn't close after the first Cincy score.

Revis was picked on today for no good reason. 3 b.s. penalties and the one time he was literally tackled by ocho cinco on a big gain by benson it was not called. Jets won and I'm thrilled, but the zebras get an F tonight.

Get healthy Harris and Strickland. Hopefully Lowery wasn't hurt too bad. Looked like a groin injury.

Whoopie. He was 12/15, it's not like he was 28/35. He played well, but they did keep it fairly simple for him. Don't get too carried away with the "record". Good game for him in his first trip to the postseason....

He should have been 14-15, he had two passes dropped, one of them being a 50-yard bomb to Braylon Edwards that should have been another TD and padded his numbers. Of course you can't ask him to throw 40 times, under 20's a good number in fact for this year but it is still darn good for a rookie QB on the road in the postseason.

I liked what I saw from Sanchez on Saturday. That's probably thanks in large part to the coaching staff putting together a game plan where he didn't have to carry the team, and the players executing a successful running game and playing well on defense. If the Jets had to come from behind in the second half, this might have gone a whole lot differently.

A lot of "if"s ... what if Braylon Edwards didn't suck so horribly? What if the Bengals kicker could hit chip shots? What if the refs didn't single Revis out? What if Marv Lewis didn't waste his challenges in the first couple minutes? But you have that kind of stuff in every game.

Sanchez looked good. Big step in the development of the rookie QB.

Little Schot called another great game with a lot misdirection and kept Sanchez moving which just confused the Bengal D.

Once Sanchez gets some seasoning and if Schott stays, the Jets could be equally as dominant on offense in the coming years.

...this is an excellent point. Sanchez has incredible pocket presence, and his development could only benefit by it being cultivated going forward. Sanchez finished 2nd in the NFL in rushing TD's among QB's. He was just starting to harness his skill in rushing, before upper management pulled the plug on him. He had 3 rushing touchdowns in a 5 game stretch going into the bye week.... then Joe Girardi was brought in, and all of sudden, Sanchez's scrambling ability went MIA. There's a difference between frowning on a quarterback's dynamics -vs- stifling his ability in doing so, from the get-go. He rushed for over 100 yrds this season, with Rex Ryan scolding him every step of the way. His speed and agility should be encouraged, not discouraged.

Agreed. The Girardi involvement was the start of his decline this season.

Sanchez with Brian Schottenheimer will build an offensive force in the next few years. Not sure if Leon Washington will be back in form, but one thing is certain the JET offense NEEDS Green to keep defenses guessing. Thomas Jones is no longer the guy here.
