here are this offseason's free agents to be >>>>

assuming the Devils only resign zajac to about 3Mil and oduya to about the same would leave the devils with about 17-18 million cap room, but without one d-man, 4 forwards and a goalie.

there's the list.....give your suggestions to L.L

It would probably be a good idea to merge some of the other offseason threads into this one or vice versa.

Get rid of Zubrus and Rolston is the first priority.

there's not a dumb enough gm out there to take their salaries

kings only have to offer him 1.8...and would probably equal pretty much any offer he'll be made

I say we go the Matvichuk route with Zubrus, waivers then AHL time. Rolston we might be able to salvage.

hmmmmmm Chad Larose UFA , made 875,000 last year.

gritty, speedy, two way guy, 27 years old.

I'd say 3 years for 5.2m do the Canes have the cap room to match that?

hey if he was on the Devs they win the series in 6.

I've always liked Larose, I don't like him so much anymore but I respect him still. The Canes don't have much cap space but he is probably one of the priority players they're going to sign.

I'd like to see the Devils resign Oduya/Zajac/Gionta(at a discounted price)/Weekes/Leblond and then go out and sign Komisarek and Cammalleri.

After a quick look at our cap situation both of those signings would be near impossible unless we dropped a player.

Jokinen was released earlier in the season and thought he would have been a nice pick up for the Devils, but he went to Carolina and we all see how huge he became in this series.

Jokinen is a RFA so we would have to give up something to get him.

If we're going to go after an RFA, which is risky business, then I say we go after David Krejci on the Bruins. Stick him on a line with Elias and we have a little Czech connection going on.

Meh,

It was either Jokinen or Shanahan.

I'd like for Lou to bring up Vrana/Berfgors. Cormier would be a reach(Better for him to stay either with Rimouski or just go to Lowell.)

Lou should try to acquire a D to complete the DEVS'S D.

IMO, Rolston signing wasn't a bad idea. I'm sure next year he'll produce.. But for now, Zubrus.. Meh. There's no room for him on the top-2 lines.

3.4millions for a guy that plays on the 3rd line.. Eh. Zajac btw should get.. 3.5-4millions per year I'd guess.

if lamoriello were to get cammalleri he would have to resign gio to have a complete line

Here are some free-agents that caught my eye:

(all: UFA's, play 65+ games a year, reasonable to get, and not too old)

Marc-Andr

I would really like Lou to re-sign Gionta. I know a lot of you are probably thinking wtf right now but I have a few reasons. 1. He had a decent season, however not a season worth $4million. 2. He is always the first one back on the backcheck and his speed is a great asset. 3. He was one of our best players in this short playoff year. The one thing though is that he must sign for less then the $4 million dollars he made the last 3 seasons. If he is willing to take around $2.5-$3 million than hopefully Lou will bring him back.

yeah i was just about to say that. Beauchemin will probably get at least 4 mill a year, but id take that if im Lou. As for a second line centre, exploring Saku Koivu as an option may be a choice

As realistically speaking as possible, I can see Lou doing something like this next year...

Guys like Shanny, Holik, Havelid, and Rupp will either retire or find employment elsewhere. (Im hoping Holik retires and gets a job with Danno in the announcement booth lol). Gionta and Madden will either be let go or leave for more money. It wouldn't surprise me if Lou re-signs at least one of them, but let's assume the only people he brings back from this year's teama re Zajac, Odyua, and Greene...

I can see him bringing back Petr Sykora and going after a dman like Marc-Andre Bergeron from Minnesota. He's 28, has some size, and has a cannon of a shot. He put up 14 goals and 32 points this year, 7 of which were powerplay goals.

Along with any youngsters that make the team, in the unlikely event, I can see our lineup looking something like this next year...

Elias-Rolston-Sykora

Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner

Bergfors-Vrana-Clarkson

Halischuk-Zubust-Pando

Bergeron-Martin

White-Odyua

Salvador-Corrente/Mottau/Greene

Marty

Clemmer (assuming he stays for whatever reason. Marty can't play 70 games anymore, so it'd make sense)

Not exactly a super lineup, but we'd get younger.
