William
he is healthy for the first time in years according to him. also, i think the team so far into the season is much better than anyone thought. we have the cap space why not sign him. parise zajac langs elias forsberg bergfors rolston zubrus clarkson pando nieds the fin 2 scoring lines 2 checking lines we would easily be the best team in the eastern conference in my humble opinion. the only caveat to the potential singing is that the khl might offer him 10 million dollars. adavid
He'll get hurt again. He's too fragile.
DH26
he'd probably never come here either. He could go back to Colorado with them playing so well
njdevil26
I honestly wouldn't mind taking his injury risk. What's the worst that can happen... he'll get hurt and we can put him on LTIR and not have him count against the cap?

Triumph
forsberg has been quoted numerous times that he would only play for a team for which he's played before. he'd obviously be an excellent fit but i see little chance he ends up here if he returns to the NHL at all. Amberite
there's risks with signing him? Risk against the cap? No. Risk to Vanderbeek's wallet? Yep. And I have a feeling Vanderbeek doesn't want to spend much more than what the team is currently spending. Par9
The whole point of cutting Shanny was to open up opportunity's to rookies such as Pelley, signing Forsberg would be a rookie being sent down(Pelley) So if we did sign Forsberg why did we let Shanny go??? Also as stated before he want to play on a team he has played on before.
njdevil26
Pelly isn't a rookie. And he's really bad.
Amberite
Actually Pelley had nothing to do with Shanahan leaving. Shanny was let go because he wanted to play on the top 3 lines, and it was decided that he wouldn't have an opportunity to play there because of players like Bergfors and Pikkarainen. Par9
The point was Shanny was taken away because Lou wanted some young guys to get a chance...so signing Forsberg which would lead to Pelley being cut would be against the whole "Youth Movement." You may view this is a different way but I stand behind that signing Forsberg would be stupid and against this youth movement. Am I wrong?!?! Anyway put Forsberg in and take Pelley out....this may give us some offence but in the end we can't send Pelley down. This is his final year because soon he'll have Jofeson and Cormier to go up against. Pelley has no chance againt both of these uprising centers! This whole discussion is a waste Forsberg is 36 and has stated if he comes back to the NHL he would join Philly or the Av's. I'm very sorry for all the Forsberg lovers out there his chance of coming here are zippo!

MantaRay
foppa is infinitely better than shanny For the 10 games Floppa is healthy, I would rather have Shanny. This whole discussion is a waste Forsberg is 36 and has stated if he comes back to the NHL he would join Philly or the Av's. I'm very sorry for all the Forsberg lovers out there his chance of coming here are zippo! As a Devil fan I would LOVE for Philly to re-sign him and destroy the good, young chemistry the Flyers are building with.
Prucenterrules
he won't ever be here in jersey unless he is on a visiting team.
Jas0nMacIsaac
Shanny was let go because he wasn't good enough for the top 6, Forsberg is...huge difference.
LucifersDog
Are you kidding me? Lou who signed Rolston, Zubrus and the other failures (why should I list more) is not going to sign Forsberg.

SatansDevils
Forsberg IF healthy would be a big improvement to the Devils. It would give the Devils the two solid scoring lines they need. Forsberg is a hell of a lot better right now than Pikkarainen, Peters, Pelley, Halischuk, and PL3 who have done really nothing for this Devils team. Beezer34
...is this thread for real? Don't get me wrong, I'd freak if we got 21. But Forsberg is Flyer bound.
Chimaira_Devil_#9
In the games i have seen him in the SEL he has look very good. Worth the risk IMO, but i doubt it will happen.
