Rock
Luongo to start Canada’s Olympic opener vs. Norway; Brodeur to start Thursday vs. Switzerland http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/fireice/ Team Canada coach Mike Babcock told reporters in Vancouver that the decision was partially because Luongo will be playing in his home NHL rink (Canada/GM Place), but also said it was because Brodeur has played a lot of games for the Devils. sundstrom
HA! What does it say that OTHER coaches know Marty's been playing too much but our own team buries its head in the sand!

I don't put stock into that, it could be just to get Luongo in there and not make it seem like a slight to Marty....
MDPucks
Or it could be a perfect opportunity for Tony Romo... er... Roberto Luongo to flame-out in Game 1 (a la Curtis Joseph in Salt Lake).
Devil Fan
Or it could be a perfect opportunity for Tony Romo... er... Roberto Luongo to flame-out in Game 1 (a la Curtis Joseph in Salt Lake). And Brodeur got flamed out by the Canes in Rd 1...(Although Cujo suffered the same destiny in Rd 3, but he did played more playoff games though. MDPucks
And Brodeur got flamed out by the Canes in Rd 1...(Although Cujo suffered the same destiny in Rd 3, but he did played more playoff games though. That Devils team was a 6th seed to Carolina's 3 and Marty had a 1.5 GAA giving-up 2,2,0,1,3, and 1 goals respectively throughout the six games of that series. Instead it was the great Devils offense that let the team down. Cujo was pushed to 7 games by a bad Islanders team before he had Ottawa do its typical playoff choke-job to Toronto in the 2nd round. Phat Andy
This is good news IMO. Hopefully he does bad and only plays a couple games. He can come back after the Olympics and go crazy for our playoff run. Then again I am an American go USA
Don
Or it could be a perfect opportunity for Tony Romo... er... Roberto Luongo to flame-out in Game 1 (a la Curtis Joseph in Salt Lake). I think Cujo laid an egg vs Sweden. Luongo is going to be playing Norway. I think if he lets in a goal it will be a complete let down. It's funny though. Brodeur wanted incredibly badly to be the starter for Canada. Brodeur also DEMANDS to play just about every game for the Devils. T'would be funny if his demands to play loses him the starter spot for the tournament.
