Swede
http://www.aftonbladet.se/vss/sport/story/...,371758,00.html Well... here I am again with with my swedish sources . I'll try to translate it: Albelin beats Swedish Record 39year old Albelin won't give up. He turned down the offer to join the Devil's coaching staff and after a decent pre-season he have recieved an one year contract from the Stanley cup Champions Devils. This will be Albelins 18th season in the NHL. That is one season more than Borje Salming who played 17 seasons in the worlds best league. Albelin will also become the second oldest Swede in NHL. Only Kjell Samuelsson played at an older age
BlueSkirt
Thanks for the report. I guess there will be other sources reporting it today here in North America, although it won't get quite the same attention that it get's in your country. Jimmy Leeds
Tommy is a loyal, proud Devil. Remember, he was in Dallas in 2000 rooting the Devs on..........you could tell he was dying to be on that squad.
sheeps
Tommy is a loyal, proud Devil. You are right, he is the epitome of a loyal player. Last year he kept getting called up and sent back down. It would have been easy for him to slack off and not take things seriously, but he didn't. He stayed in shape by working out and playing his hardest in Albany. Did he complain when he got called up? Never. "I'm just glad to have a chance to play. I'll do anything for the team." If any team had 20 guys like that, they'd be in business. Weekes Head
Thanks for the report, Swede. Good news to hear at the least. He'll get the job done when called upon, whether they're be long stretches on the bench, in the stands or otherwise.
insanity_gallops
Hmm, still no report on the Devils' site, TSN, or NHL.com... curious.
Weekes Head
Hmm, still no report on the Devils' site, TSN, or NHL.com... curious. Remember when Jamie Langenbrunner signed a deal with us last year? Some Minnesota paper reported it, and it wasn't until about five days later when it FINALLY showed up on TSN.ca and ESPN. BlueSkirt
No update yet in the NHL transactions webpage. Swede, can you get another source to confirm the contract-offer? How reliable is that newspaper?
