OK let's go back to the off season and say Kovy wasn't signed. Who was available that was worth the 4 million or so left of free cap space?

We would have gotten nobody because we would have only been about 2.5 million under the cap anyway. So we would have had the exact same team minus Kovy.

Whats the bigger waste of money? Devils $100Mil on what looks like a mediocre player, or Whitmans $150mil to lose the Cal. election?? very close call...
