This is also great because this kind of "extra mile" stuff helps fans get through lean times. Nice to see this organization showing some more warmth. The food vendors were slow but were very apologetic about being rusty on the first night back. Some new sandwiches and things to choose from throughout the arena as well as an additional bar where the Kids Zone use to be. Blandisi played very well. Back in 2012 during a playoff game against the Flyers, during a stoppage, the Devils played a montage from the Rocky movies, starting with Rocky running through the streets with all of the Philadelphia faithful behind him and "Gonna Fly Now" blaring away...just when I was thinking "WTF, Rocky is from Philly", the montage became a collage of Rocky getting pummeled and pummeled over and over again...now THAT was pretty friggin' funny (and clever). It's amazing how much faster this team is compared to last season. Good to hear, I know they had several players who weren't playing greeting fans at the entrances last night as well. It's nice to see the team trying to step up the off ice details of running the franchise. I'm excited for this season just based on us being a bit younger and quicker. Sure we may not make the playoffs but I don't feel like the games will be as miserable to watch as it was last season. Last season was the first time I felt like it was a chore to have season tickets. I just hated way too much about the entire season. I'm really probably too excited and optimistic about this season. My mom went and said there barely anyone there. I'm guessing the Pope nonsense kept a lot of people from wanting to drive, idk. Personally I went to the red bulls game cause their regular season trumps preseason Devils for me. The game tonight should be on TV I would assume.
