Hell in Boston #30 Posted January 18, 2012 Share Posted January 18, 2012 Has anyone had their jersey customized at Hockey Haus in Bound Brook? My folks just bought me a Devs christmas tree jersey from there and I am looking to get Elias added to it. I was planning on using Exclusive Pro as they come highly recommended on these boards. But, the owner of Hockey Haus says he does full tackle twill lettering too. I'm just not sure if it's the actual on ice lettering that Exclusive Pro does and from some of the threads on this board I've seen some pretty shotty customization from companies who advertise pro customization. Unfortunately, I live up in Boston so I can't make a trip over to Hockey Haus to check out any of their work. Any advice that anyone has would be great! The Hockey Haus option seems appealing because I'd get the jersey finished quicker. But you're right, this is the type of thing you want done right, so it's probably worth the wait. DevsMan84 Posted January 19, 2012 Share Posted January 19, 2012 Man, I keep forgetting Hockey Haus and they are only about a 10-15 minute from me. They have been there forever and if you don't know where exactly it is you can drive by it and miss it. I have last been there maybe about two years ago and saw some older jerseys that they have lettered. It wasn't a huge selection then (they did have an old Caps Jagr jersey) but their customization job was not bad, but I am pretty sure they do not do it in-house. I am pretty sure there is a jersey customization place in either South Plainfield, Piscataway or Middlesex area, and from what I hear they do a pretty good job and so it might be them who they send it to since that place has about a two week turnaround time for most jobs. devilsfan26 Posted January 19, 2012 Share Posted January 19, 2012 I got a Janssen jersey customized by them a few years ago and it was horrible. They used the same wrong font that came on all pre-customized CCM jerseys, and they put WAY too much space between each letter. The font differences aren't noticeable to most people (though it's a big deal to me especially when you say it is the same customization the pros get), but the letter spacing made it look absolutely ridiculous. I ended up sending it to Exclusive Pro to get the right font put on. Just eliminate any doubt and go with Exclusive Pro.
