Otherwise not really sure how him-Zidlicky-Greene-Gelinas-Merrill-Fraser make up 1 D pairing. We can't help that Severson is hurt, and I think we're all glad Salvardor still is. So I think Tri is saying that any pairing that includes Fraser or Gelinas is not an NHL D pairing. Also, nice to see Josefson is getting a shot with Sestito and Tootoo. Hope he sticks around. Getting Severson back will be a big help. A top 6 of: Greene-Severson Merrill-Larsson Gelinas/Helgeson/Harrold/whoever-Zidlicky Won't look too bad. Only the 3rd pairing will be one that can be consistently exploited. If we can find someone in FA to replace Zidlicky on the 3rd pairing and either Gelinas or Santini comes out of training camp looking competent, we'll have a pretty damn good top 6 defense.
