'7'
That goal counts depending on the situation. Like someone said before, if Crosby scores it, it counts. You know this to be true. If a Rag scores it, it doesn't even get reviewed. Heck they'd probably count it twice
swampdevil
I'm pissed too but they put themselves in that position with some sloppy half assed play. Never should have come down to that.......
Random Poster
I don't believe that was a distinct kicking motion. Hell, I've seen goals with a lot more of a kick stand. fvcking figures. Why is anyone surprised this fvcking league makes up and changes the rules as they go along? It's just further irony that this team's two "best" players both had a hand in this loss, one worse then the other. Imagine where this team would be if they each were contributing in the goal column? M problem with goals like this is there is so much gray area and it seems like the NHL literally flips a coin to decide. There are some goals that get counted that are like soccer kicks, while others that are hardly touched by a skate, with inconclusive video evidence get disallowed. I just can't stand the gray area. Devilsfan118
Rutgers absolutely sh!ts the bed, and now the Devils get robbed of 2 points. Awesome fvcking sports day. Damn this to fvcking hell.
Masked Fan
"The puck was propelled into the net by a skate" THAT'S NOT THE RULE fvckWAD! It has the be a kicking motion, and it clearly wasn't! Um. yeah!

MadDog2020
I hope someone goes off on the officiating. I'll gladly contribute to the fine. It needs to be said.
Parisalchuk
After that ending I'm not even mad at Kovalchuk anymore. I just want every referee and person in the situation room to die.
Devilsfan118
I just don't get it. My personal bias and rage aside, he was FALLING OVER. There was NO kick, it was pushed forward by the falling skate. Kick implies intent in my mind. He had no idea where the hell the puck was, it went off his skate. MadDog2020
And the league has already sent out their lame-ass e-mail explanation of the ruling, with the same vague terminology they always use to explain sh!t when they completely sh!t the bed on a call. fvck this fvcking league. thefiestygoat
No matter how many times I see the replay, there is no way that Parise made a "distinct kicking motion" as the rule states. Watching the Parise interview right now you can tell he is biting his tongue to avoid a fine/suspension.

What happens if a player falls down and on his way to break his fall, he swipes the puck in with his glove, should that count? I don't think the rule cares about intent or not. Devilsfan118
fvck it, like someone else said, let it loose Zach. I'll help pay for the damn fine. I'll say it again, this league is a joke.
Pepperkorn
Refs beat the Devils. Oh but this is just sour grapes and I'm a big homer
MadDog2020
"They made their own call". That's what Zach just said. Good for him. I wish he went off though. You could tell he was holding back.
Devilsfan118
I disagree. What happens if a player falls down and on his way to break his fall, he swipes the puck in with his glove, should that count? I don't think the rule cares about intent or not. If a player is mid-fall, and it hits his glove and deflects in? That..should count, no? Perhaps we're imagining this differently. I don't care what the puck goes in off of, if it inadvertantly hits some body part (and the player didn't seem aware of the location of the puck) I feel like it should count. mikeford
The skate propelled the puck into the net because Parise lifted his foot to change position and when he put it back down, he struck the puck with his skate and it went in. That's gonna be no goal like 95% of the time. As soon as they showed that angle, I knew it was coming back. PhuckinKillAvery
Wow. I'm at of loss for once guys. I hate Kovalchuck and the refs. Kovalchuck is the worst thing that has ever happend to the New Jersey Devils. Remember this post 10 years from now when we've won nothing. Random Poster
Today is one of those times you just let loose and hand the league two blank checks. One for today and the other for the eventual next time. Make sure both checks are drawn from the account of Ilya Kovalchoke.
