I feel bad for lou. if he doesnt make a move, people will criticize him here. if he makes a move, people criticize the contract. if he signs someones that everyone on the board wants, people will complain he paid too much to get him

Why feel bad?  Lou's been a ridiculously successful GM for over 25 years with the same team.  He doesn't care what a bunch of jack-offs on a message board think.

Lou on the length of the contract (and a reference to Elias)

"Quite frankly, all the players are getting paid too much and all the contracts are too long," general manager Lou Lamoriello said. "But if you want to compete in this market and you want to win, there are some things you have to do. You have to pick the right people and that's the case here.

"He takes care of himself and he's a well-conditioned player. We're going too be losing a couple player in a couple years and he can still play. He just turned 32 in June."

Good highlight but we know who Cammalleri is, it's not really the point.

the guy posted a nice highlight video, thanks for sh!tting on stuff.

Cammalleri's most common linemates over the last 5 years, in order of most ice time to least:

Plekanec, A. Kostitsyn, Mi. Backlund, B. Gionta, Gomez, Stempniak, Tanguay, Iginla

Hasn't played with a ton of good players, really.

I think Zajac and him will work very well.

Don't understand all the bitching, even initially. Take the rest of the contracts that were given, this is a pretty good one.

Cammalleri is going to do very well, he's a pure scorer and he can score in a lot more ways than he's given credit for, especially at this point in his career. Paired with Zajac I see him scoring 30 easily.

The Devils' main problem on offense last year was the lack of shots/chances created. On a terrible Calgary team, Cammalleri averaged over 3 shots a game and was one of their best possession players. Sure he's pretty one dimensional, but he has an elite shot and won't have to do the dirty work with Zajac and Jagr on his line. Money is fine, its just that extra year or two, but it really isn't a big deal. This move makes the Devils better for sure

Well id put plekanec about the same as zajac and iginla and those guys are equal or close to what we have in NJ... With a possession beast like jagr tho. Could be good
