nessus
It's really discouraging to see a lack of production from Tedenby in the AHL. You'd think a guy with so much raw talent would be able to dominate down there. But, then you can bring back some hope after watching this video:
Jas0nMacIsaac
This summer may make or break Tedenby's career. To say that about a 22 year old may seem harsh but unless he has improved his defensive awareness 200% in his time with Albany, he is on a track downwards. thefiestygoat
Some recent transactions: Albany adds Kelly Zajac with ATO, Returns Haczyk to Kalamazoo During his final season with the Dutchmen, Zajac served as an assistant captain and put up 42 points (8 g, 34 a) in 41 games. He also set a Union single season record for assists and helped the Dutchmen to the ECAC Hockey regular season and conference titles on route to the first NCAA Frozen Four appearance in program history.Over the course of his four-year collegiate career, Zajac accumulated 128 points with 37 goals and 91 assists in 159 games, good enough for second all-time in school history for points, first for assists and first for games played. Expected move and it seems likely he will be signed by Albany for next season to play with Darcy. Then the Devils will have 3 of the 4 Zajac's in the organization. Albany Signs Reid Boucher to ATO Boucher, 18, was a fourth-round pick (99th overall) in last year’s draft bu the New Jersey Devils. He just completed his first season with the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League (50 GP, 28-22–50). I didn't expect this news but I am happy to see it. Boucher had a decent rookie year in the OHL and this could be a nice experience to give him a taste of what the next level has to offer so he knows how much more he needs to develop in Sarnia next year. Elmira leads series 1-0. Important note regarding Trenton and Devils ECHL affiliation: Mike Ashmore "More and more likely the Trenton Titans will have a dual affiliation in 2012-13, by the way. Flyers no matter what. Devils as other half."

thefiestygoat
Albany lost their final game of the year to Syracuse 2-1. Scoring for the Devils was Tedenby (8) (PP, Burlon and Anderson). Clermont made 21 Saves on 23 shots in his 2nd game of the year. Reid Boucher made his AHL debut with a -1 rating and 4 shots. Tedenby earned 3rd star. Here is the gamesheet. Below are the highlights. Tedenby had a solid April, scoring 2 goals, 3 assists, in 6 games with 12 shots, an even rating, and just 2 penalty minutes. He finishes the season: 35 GP 6 G 14 A 20 Pts E 22 PIM 7.41 SH% 2.31 S/G They finish the year 31-34-6-5 with 73 points, good for last place in the Northeast Division and 14th in the Eastern Conference. Over the course of the year Albany scored just 190 times while allowing 226. For reference, just Lake Erie (189) and Hamilton (185) scored less than Albany. I highly suggest reading Bill Cain's season review. It is lengthy but has quotes from Chris Lamoriello, Rick Kowalsky, Joe Whitney, and Tim Sestito as well as analysis on what went right and what went wrong. Really solid recap. Also, In Lou We Trust has an interview regarding Kelly Zajac with Ken Schott of the Daily Gazette who covers ECAC hockey, especially Union, closely. thefiestygoat
With Albany done, this thread will pretty much just carry the ECHL updates. Kalamazoo currently leads their semifinal series against South Carolina 2-0. Game 3 is Wednesday at 7:05. Elmira lost to Florida 5-4: Pielmeier (50 Saves on 55 Shots in 79:57). Elmira trails series 2-1. Game 4 is Wednesday at 7:30. Nice to see Pielmeier wrestle the starting job back, though I doubt the Devils retain him after this year.
