The 29th Pick
Ugly win. But it's 2 points nonetheless. The vuvuzelas should be banned from every American sporting event. So f'ing annoying! I turned the sound down on my TV cause they were non stop annoying tonight

NJDevs4978
The fact they annoy the opposition fans makes me actually like them. lol What opposition fans? Other than two Ranger games and one Hab game every year it's not like there's some big contingent of opposition fans that are going to be intimidated by the noise. Mostly they just annoy everyone else around them. There's noise and then there's annoying noise. Tooting the horn and the other noisemakers nonstop (and at odd points in the game at that) is ridiculous.
snartly
Could someone post how the coat drive vouchers looked? Of course, you should cover of blur out the code, but I just want to see the design on one of them
JRZYRIPPER
Had such a good time at the game. See my topic called my experience for autograph details! Awesome !
thecoffeecake
4 pages, jesus. I hope everyone was there. A few of my observations. Zajac is getting better every single game. He's shooting more, and his decision making on both sides of the puck continues to be phenomenal. For all of you that have hated on him for the last year, eat shit. Also, Enroth. I told you guys.Imagine if we had Vanek now? Gosh darn. And how did this team turn the clock back to 01 and become a defensive powerhouse? What shifted in PDBs playbook after three years? I like it, though. Solid.

Just lame and extremely annoying. So glad the Devils found a way...I'll take the two points any way the Devils can get them. Right now the Devils look and play like a .500ish team...not flawed enough to sink to an Islander-like record, but also not good enough to go much more than a few games over .500 (before losing to sink back). Heaven forbid Michael Ryder actually puts one home when he gets a golden opportunity. I've pretty much given up on Brunner.

Mike Brown
Only reason I don't mind the horn is because I'm pretty far away. But if I was close, I'd despise it like the rest of you. I think I've just gotten used to it. BTW, whenever I sit in my regular seat of Sec 132, row 3, seat 13, the Devils are 4-0-0, and have out scored their opponents 14-1 in those games. They;re 0-1-1 in games I sit in a different seat.
Mike Brown
Vuvuzela's have never annoyed me all too much, however if I was sitting next to someone with one I'm sure I'd feel differently. Good win last night, we could have had a few last night but we were snake bitten and Enroth made some really big stops, good to see them getting rewarded for their play with the OT winner, earlier in the season a bounce would have gone against us in overtime and we'd be tagged with an undeserved loss. I agree with everything said in this post. The vuvzuelas don't bother me from afar, but if I sat close to that section I'd want to shoot myself. The team played well last night. I thought they were great defensively, but offensively they tried to be too cute. They missed the net a lot, and seemed to try and force every pass in the offensive zone. It's nothing new with this team though. But I hope we find a remedy for it.
Triumph
Cory Schneider has a 1.72 GAA, and it's almost sustainable. He'll face more shots as the Devils score more when he is the goalie, but his career SV% and his SV% this season is .927. Still, that would be an excellent GAA - would be tied for the best ever for someone who plays half the games (although he'd actually have to start half the games). ATLL765
So glad I got to see a win, even though now the Devils have still only scored 4 goals in the 4 games I've been to....3 of which occurred in one game. I love the horn during penalty kill That makes one of you and you only.

Still, that would be an excellent GAA - would be tied for the best ever for someone who plays half the games (although he'd actually have to start half the games). DeBoer was ready to give Schneider an extended stretch of starts previously. That run Marty went on was fun while it lasted, but the gap between the two goalies' numbers is heading towards where we all expected it to be. If DeBoer keeps going back to Brodeur and Brodeur's numbers (particularly save%) continue to fall, then DeBoer is just being almost spitefully stubborn. Marty is going to have to be great and give DeBoer legitimate reasons to give him starts that should be going to Schneider. Marty's getting the start in Montreal, but I hope, no matter what Marty does (good or bad), that Schneider gets the three after that. He deserves it...he's flat-out been the better goalie overall. These horns suck...but I guess if the Devils told the fans they cant bring them in anymore, it would be more of "These new owners suck" and we do need as many butts in the seats as possible. I dont know the solution? Edited December 1, 2013 by The 29th Pick
Colorado Rockies 1976
Probably no vuvuzela solution...not like the people using them are doing anything wrong. Those of us who hate them are just going to have to deal. Who knows, could be a lot more people who DO like them than we think (though I doubt it). Besides injury, I don't think there's a chance that that happens. It's going to be a split until one guy seriously falters or gets hurt. Remember, it was Brodeur giving up 4 goals to Ottawa (3 of which were not very good goals to give up) that had Brodeur saying that Schneider had won the #1 spot. Brodeur will have to do something like that again - something which he is perfectly capable of doing. I don't attend a lot of games but on TV I like the vuvuzela during the PK. Colorado Rockies 1976
If one guy's well over .920 in save% and the other guy's around .910 or lower (think that's where Brodeur will be), I can't see the split continuing...unless Marty gets lots of goal support. We'll see in time. Would be interesting to put the vuvuzela thing to a poll...I honestly have no idea what the split would be.

Corey Crawford leads the league in wins with 17, yet his stats arent even as good as Marty's.....I really hope Lou can get some goal support for both our goalies I think the vuvuzela vote would be 80-20 against

If Brodeur is costing the team games (as he did in Ottawa), he'll be benched. I'd be surprised if it turned out otherwise.
2ELIAS6
cory is just a solids goalie no doubt about it and i think the team is starting to play better in front of him... even though they only got one goal last night and in OT they only allowed 15 shots to hit him

The people sitting in front of me were complaining about it. I was in 117 though, so right near the 122 section. It was unbelievably annoying to hear the vuvuzela all night, especially when we went on the PK a couple times in a row. Ughhhh, just SHUT THE fvck UP WITH THE VUVUZELA ALREADY. It was just one guy too. Doesn't he get bored of that sh!t?
