‏Zach Parise has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild

Do you think Semin would buy into our system like Kovy did?

I think what we did with Kovy makes the Devils an attractive option for Semin. If you recall in the first half of the 10-11 season, Kovy was sarcastically touted as the 100 million dollar man when he was struggling to put up points. Now even Kovy haters like Jeremy Roenick are conceding that Kovy has totally changed his game and a less selfish, hard working player.

Little did we know the C on Parise's jersey stood for "C-ya, suckers!" Yes, I was fooled. And it is the collusion vibe that taints it.

And this is basically 24 hours after this tweet:

And I won't write anything until this is over. Zach is one of the best star athletes I have ever worked with, and that covers 32 years.

So yeah the fans weren't the only ones that got fooled here.

How is his off-the-ice behavior. Wasnt he always clubbing and partying with Ovechkin?

Zach should run for office. He's a world class fraud.

Every other professional athlete goes clubbing and partying a lot. If you bring him in then you just set expectations for him. Getting away from Ovechkin may actually help him. Besides he can't be any worse than Patrick Kane.

The Tweet she followed this up with makes it even better:

That Halloween idea works best if you go out with someone in a Suter jersey carrying an identical amount of money and texting each other

Gay porn with two guys wearing Parise and Suter jerseys?

Is that too much?

Lou gets a lot of credit for the 3 cups and the now 5 SC finals, but it's been a while since he's outsmarted or fleeced anyone in a trade.

Kovalchuk for a first, one NHLer with an oversized caphit and two AHLers. That trade also moved us up to the top of the second round where we selected Merrill.

Zidlicky for a second and junk.

Poni for junk.

Anger aside... Zach was a BIG part of our PK and our shootouts... 2 things that doesnt show on the scoresheet but it helped us tremendously during the season, we're gonna have to address that

Bingo! Tedenby and Sykora won't work on a PK. And while Kovy has gotten better defensively, you don't want him losing all his gas killing penalties all the time.

Well you could plug in Zajac (missing the whole season) on the PK, but the shootouts yeah it could be a problem assuming Kovy regresses to the mean a little bit this year. Even if Zach struggled the second half of last year in the shootout.

Listened to interviews with LeBrun, Dreger, and Arnott today. Here are some interesting tidbits from them:

- Suter told teams that he wanted to be on his farm July 1st and if any team came up there, they would be out of the running. He eventually met with Detroit the next day because he was very interested.

- While Parise was camped out in his Toronto office, the only team that ever got a face-to-face meeting was Lou Lamoriello the days before free agency.

- Philly offered both players well over $100 million for both players. And while it seems that the Flyers offered both the most, it never seemed like they had a chance at either.

- Chicago was in heavy for Parise and Suter, but Suter had no interest at all, and Parise passed

- Ken Holland told Pierre LeBrun that he would have matched Minny for Suter, if given the chance. They desperately wanted Suter.

- Like everyone has said, Suter and Parise only started talking about this on the evening of July 2nd. There might have been discussions before in the year, but this only got serious after two days of hearing offers. This was not something they started free agency really thinking about or talking to teams about possibly doing.

- Pittsburgh was 100% told they were out last night.

- Parise was offered possibly more by Minny, but it was important to him that he and Suter had identical deals.

- Unlike Lou, David Poile felt totally blindsided. He never thought Suter would go anywhere else. He even took a big run at Parise too. Was devastated that Suter never gave him the opportunity to match because he probably would. There is a general feeling that Weber will be gone now too. This isn't about a team not being able to afford their stars. They just want to go elsewhere. Poile won't make the same mistake again, and expect Weber to be dealt sometime during the year like Kovalchuk was if a deal can't be reached.

- In the end, these two guys wanted to go home to Minny and play together. Even though they got huge deals there, this money would have come from anywhere and some of the best teams in the league were after both.

- The bonuses were not something that was a must and not something they asked each team. Seemed like something Minny was interested in doing to entice both players.

- As for collusion: None of the insiders seem to really care. Sighted Jordan Staal and Eric talking. Wondering when Marc joins them. It's not against CBA rules so no big deal. "Something that has always gone and always will."

Poile's dealt with alot of BS in his time, so if he felt blindsided by it it has to be pretty bad. So I'm not sure about the "unlike Lou" part, it's just that the Devils will never, ever speak of this. So far you've only gotten an impatient mascot, one of Brodeur's kids and Sherry Ross being sarcastic, and I would be surprised if you ever get more than that.

Who was the impatient mascot, Holik? I know he tweeted for Zach to make up his mind yesterday. And actually two of Marty's kids had something to say, I think both Jeremy and William tweeted some sarcastic Parise stuff.

Honestly, I have steered clear of this board until now because I wanted to enjoy my vacation day today but I have come back to make my "I Told You So" Post...

In conclusion, Mr. Parise had us all fooled and led on throughout this entire process, in thinking that he was going to do the right thing, come back to NJ, at least give us a shot...he had us thinking that the decision was going to be "oh so hard". Zach played us all like a fiddle, saying "this is so stressful", "we are over analyzing things", "this is tougher than I thought", blah blah blah blah blah. Meanwhile, he knew EXACTLY WHERE HE WAS GOING THE ENTIRE TIME, and he even knew so well that he was able to get one of his close friends, Mr. Suter, to come right along with him to play with him in Minny. Smoke and mirrors folks, smoke and mirrors.

I am not mad, I am not upset, but I am still in a bit of shock despite all this. Zach Parise will never suit up again in the red and black and captain the NJ Devils and be the "class act" we all thought he was. Rather, he played every single Devil fan out there, like myself, like a fvcking fiddle with his "PR tour" and his "saving face" interviews each day where he claimed it was "so hard" to make this decision and convinced us that he really did not know where he was going to go...Folks, he knew ALL ALONG that Minnesota was his destination...he had us all fooled. Zach tried to ease the pain, but in the end, the pain was WORSE for the Devil faithful.

Thank god it was not Philly, thank god it was not Pittsburgh, that would have been devastating...although, if it was one of those teams, I truly would have believed he "didn't know where" he was going to go all along....I would have believed he was just a money grubber who was going to whoever the highest bidder was...no, no, Zach proved to be not...that...greedy...right? Maybe. But Zach was a liar, a coward and a farce. Zach knew it all along and he dragged us Devils fans along for the entire ride...and now, MANY OF YOU are left shocked, beaten down, broken, sad, depressed, upset, angry etc. and rightfully so.

The man we called our captain and the man we wanted our children to be like is, in fact, a HUMAN being and he wanted to "go home" to his family and friends, but honestly, and I said this throughout the process on here over and over again, if you know where you are going to go, fvcking sign the contract and make it as painless as possible...don't give me this PR stunt, save face bullsh!t where you try to make Devils fans feel better because we were one of the last two teams...that's fvcking bullsh!t and not worth a thing to any of us. Zach released details after he signed on today that said it was "the Devils or the Wild"...hey dickhead, if you were going to the Wild the entire time, it was ONLY THE WILD...Zach just threw us in there to try to save a few fans.

Good riddance Zach. And my fellow Devils Fans, we learned a very valuable lesson today...pro sports are cut-throat, multi-billion dollar industries that don't give a fvck about what team we root for or how much money we spend in the process, or how much blood, sweat and tears we put into each organization we choose to be fans of...we learned that each athlete is out for him or herself and we should NEVER believe what we see, we should never believe what we hear and we should ALWAYS wait for the other shoe to drop...because today, the other shoe dropped in NJ.

Good night.

lou did everything he could. no blaming him.

and take a step back, kovalchuk produced more and was more effective then parise in the playoffs when he was clearly in pain and extremely limited. we have yet to see a 100% kovalchuk. we will soon.
