  1. Thrilled about Tyron Smith. Didn't think they would be a realistic landing spot for him but they got it done. The O line has been significantly retooled. It was a must for Douglas to address I hope we have better injury luck than the past few seasons...we're kinda due for that. Smith is hurt every year and hasn't played more than 13 games since 2015. He will be hurt again this year and we have to prepare for that. The question is how badly and for how long. If the Jets get 12 or 13 quality starts from Tyron Smith I feel it will be worth it I feel like with the teams that have come into the league, and the injuries...finding competent linemen is becoming more and. more difficult so you see a lot of older guys hanging around and hanging around longer than they normally would. Recently look at guys like Jason Peters (41) Whitworth (40). Giants brought Justin Pugh back last year. Trent Williams at 35. Lane Johnson and Kelce's bro who just retired were both well into their 30s but still valued guys
  2. Finally the Jets land a competent backup QB in Tyrod Taylor. He has his limitations but he's a veteran who you can trust, very well liked by his teammates, mobile, and is a lot smarter/careful with the ball in terms of decision making. He does not throw many INT's. Exactly the backup you want behind Rodgers
  3. Giants released JD Davis...he was pretty good for them. Nothing spectacular but what an ugly trade that was. Wonder if the Mets would be up for a reunion. He can play 3B, 1B, outfield. Has some power and has always been a good OBP guy
  4. If Mac Jones (who has had about 1000x more competence at the position than Zach Wilson) went for that, then Wilson almost seems absolutely worthless. One is a trade and the other would be a signing but if that's the value of Mac Jones then Wilson must be looked at as a fringe practice squad QB/long term project by the rest of the league. Jones can craft a long career as a back up and sometimes decent starter when called upon. I don't think Zach could even be trusted to do that
  5. Knew it was coming but it still stings (kind of feels like losing Hugh Douglas when he went to Philly and played pretty damn well) when Huff was called upon to get to the QB he did. Outstanding player and a tough loss for our D. Eagles are an upper echelon franchise, ended last season on a very sour note and wasted no time retooling.
  6. All I think about when I see games like this is...could we have maybe had Brissett here as a backup? Maybe they sneak into the playoffs and Rodgers is starting the Wild Card game. Douglas punting the entire season after 4 plays, that's the kind of stuff that's dangerous enough to blow up a locker room. There are guys here that desperately want to win. They wouldnt have beaten Houston and Washington if they all checked out. Douglas needs to answer to the players for this, because there are guys who were anticipating being on a team that wanted to compete and the GM folded up shop week 1.
  7. I thought i heard an interesting quote by Aaron Rodgers He said something like "I can see myself staying(or sticking around) here after I'm done playing" And he's always down on the sidelines with his headset. Next year I dont care what the official titles say...our Offensive Coordinator will be Aaron Rodgers. Is thinking of taking Saleh's job in 2025 or 2026. Trying to find the exact quote but I know I heard him mention something about "sticking around here after I'm no longer playing"
  8. Honest to God if they lost that game to Washington after being up 27-7 and about to make it either 30-7 or 34-7, only to have an ill timed INT turn the tide and have the dam break...I almost wonder if Woody would reconsider his Douglas/Saleh are safe stance. Wasn't Mangini told he was safe too in 2008? I know the players were surprised when he was fired. Understand this effects draft position but we can't be trusted to get it right at 2, 5, or 12 anyway. Would be nice if the Jets can win their next 2 and go into the offseason at 8-9. I'm kind of sick of the constant draft posturing. Yea it can matter for generational talents but usually a good team will find players in every round and all over the board. Eventually you just have to just win. We all suspected Douglas and Saleh would return and get their year with Rodgers. I personally don't want either, but I'm more down on Douglas with his poor drafts, oline that is still under construction years later, Zach bust pick, no competent backup this year. With a real backup I know we'd be something like 8-7 right now. But Douglas wasn't having it. He pulled the plug on a season the players wanted a chance to win in. Saleh at least has proven he can coach a defense. There's a lot of issues with him as well but if you pair him with a competent OC and a QB that's at least average, he could do ok. We have seen his defense win some games
  9. ,Jets team has quit on the season. After the Raiders debacle it became clear what was going to unfold. Douglas basically checked out gave up after Rodgers got hurt and refused to do anything to give them a chance. When your GM shows no fight and stops competing then soon the players will too. Having Boyle and Wilson starting games for you is an insult to the defense which for a while was working miracles (as well as the special teams) but that couldnt last forever. Now the team has collectively quit and I don't know if I could really blame them with the way management threw in the towel after Rodgers injury. Douglas could've so easily avoided this. When it's so glaring that no effort is being made to win, even when the team got to 4-3, when it showed it deserved some kind of support...and it gets nothing...well of course it's going to fall apart. It's insulting to the Jets D to have Wilson start 9(!!!) games this year with Boyle getting a start himself. How long were they supposed to put up with the worst QB in football? 10 games of Wilson/Boyle with no attempt to remedy the situation is criminal
  10. Also time to pull the plug on Rodgers and any fairytale comeback nonsense. The team will soon be 4-7 there's no sense in getting him back for meaningless football
  11. And that's the season. At 4-5 with the AFC as strong as it is the Jets are buried and have no shot. All because Joe Douglas decided to sabotage a defense and st's units that are very damn good
  12. They absolutely torpedoed what could've been a very good, live, in the mix team even without Rodgers that would've been in the playoffs this year with a chance to beat anyone. But no...plod on with Zach Wilson and waste an incredible defensive season as you watch your hopeless bust embarrass himself and drag the team down
  13. This is just repulsive to watch. So stupid, helpless, and inept. The Jets defense and their special teams is tremendous, and at a level you could conceivably get to a Super Bowl with with. Yet their offense can't even operate at a slightly below average level. If they could be around the 19-24th best O in the league this team would be fine...but no they're an absolute worst of the worst joke. This team is 4-5 when any kind of pulse on offense would have us at 6-3.
  14. Speechless. I mean...a garbage performance and maybe the worst football I have EVER SEEN. But they pulled it out and as is every Jet win...a costly one injury wise
  15. Wilson is disgusting bad you have to put Boyle in there. Just have to
