Also with fear of knocking us off topic ITT, I liked Volchenkov's play tonight but I wouldn't dare make an appreciation thread for him for fear of being crusified on this board. Devils players tend to do that, it seems..if he played in a big market I be he'd be nominated. Jack Johnson is embarrassingly awful...can't believe he'll be considered. Team USA should take into consideration these 10 guys: Suter, Byfuglien, Shattenkirk, Yandle, McDonagh, Martin, Carlson, Faulk, Greene, ... and the 10th guy I don't know, really, it gets kind of murky there. Erik Johnson? Tom Gilbert? Jeff Petry? Brooks Orpik? Not a ton of options after those first 9, and I know Martin's hurt, but yeah. I think Fowler should be included on the list. I hadn't looked at stats in a while but to see her is top 20 in the league and has more points than Chara and the same as Weber is incredible. Good work Andy. I know he's looking fantastic this year, but I think that's a bit of an overpayment. I'd say more like 4/18-5/25. It'd be a nice raise for Greene, going from $3M per to $4.5-5M and will take him to age 35-36. While I think he's good, I don't think we should pay him like he'll continue to score at a .5ppg rate over that deal when the only time he's come close to that was 09-10 when he put up 37 points.
