Kozlov is staying. I've been saying for weeks (on HF) that I thought Langenbrunner was on the way out, and I still think he is. Langenbrunner and White/McGillis are going to be gone. In the meantime, I'm very dissapointed by Scott Gomez, but he almost always starts the season slow. These are the lines I want to see on Elias' return: Elias - Gomez - Gionta I know it's hard to break up Kozlov - Parise - Gionta but frankly, this line needs to get back together. They were so good, it will rejuvinate Gomez and Gionta is going to play well no matter the line he's on. Kozlov - Parise - Mogilny Gomez can only play with one of Mogilny and Elias, and I'm going to go out on a wing and say that this line can develop some chemistry. Parise is good at driving the net and being in the right place at the right time, Kozlov can set up Mogilny as well as Gomez can, IMO, and Mogilny is the shooter and will take offensive pressure off Parise. Pandolfo - Madden - Brylin Trading Brylin is out of the question. He is this team's underrated forward and he's not going anywhere. He's played this role before and can again and his speed will be an offensive spark that this line desperately needs. Rasmussen - Rheaume - Marshall Marshall may be on the way out. Murphy, Tallackson, Nittel, Voros, or someone else can take that RW spot. We'll see.

I wouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves. Suglobov is still one of our top prospects, and has terrific potential, and actually made this team two years ago. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree with Jason. I think Suglobov is done here.

I think you missed my point. Those deals worked out, even though they hurt at first when they were made. This deal on the other hand is not beneficial. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There was no beneficial solution to this particular problem. This is the price we pay for adding Mogilny, Malakhov, and McGillis.

And what would you have done? I'm very happy that this was the move that was made. I love Friesen and I wish he didn't have to go, but this was the move to make. He's coming off a year in which he didn't play and the season before was one of the worst in his career. He never found himself following the trade of Nieuwendyk and has been absolutely lost in camp, even playing with Gomez and Mogilny. There was just no chemistry there. Parise was playing well with Kozlov, we were going to move a forward, and the four options - Friesen (alone) or Langenbrunner, Brylin, Kozlov as well as someone else (probably Marshall) to even out the salaries. 2,200,000 vs. 1,700,000? This was the move to make.

It was a move we made because Friesen's salary best fit our immediate need and because Kozlov has been playing well in camp. That's why. Brylin - Gomez - Moginly Kozlov - Parise - Gionta Pandolfo - Madden - Langenbrunner Oliwa - Rasmussen - Marshall Rheaume, Foster Best guess.
