Shapeshift
http://outsports.com/jocktalkblog/?p=264 I linked to this guy's blog from a Google News search. It looks like another Devils hater calling for our franchise to relocate. Does he really think they'd abandon Jersey after building a 300+ million dollar new arena?? Clearly, they are committed for the immediate future.

bondman99
This guy is either a Rangers or Flyers fan and wants to see the Devils moved from the Atlantic Division. As for the second game not being sold out..it was Halloween on a Wednesday!

As for the second game not being sold out..it was Halloween on a Wednesday! against the Lightning no less I'm sure Vanderbeek saw it as a win, considering that same game would've drawn about 8000 total at the Swamp. Satans Hockey
how did you even manage to find this garbage, i wish we could get the attendance threads to stop. They are getting pretty annoying.
devils892003
this guy is crazy. Leaving a new arena after one or two years is insane. The team will draw in more people tonight vs. Toronto. Wendsday was an exeption because because it was halloween and all the parents were out trick or treating with their kids. I am hoping for at least 15,000+ and pushing for 16,000+ tonight. njskaguy33
It's obvious he's a Flyers fan...just notice the last line of the blog. Personally, I don't care how many people we draw a night. Considering the market we are in, it's great that we can draw 13,000 people for a Halloween game against the Bolts of all teams. Like ghdi said, this game would have drawn a 7 single guys and a dude with a pitchfork at the CAA. The Devils have been finanicially viable for years now and that's not going to change. As for the attendance threads, they are silly....but then again, I'm posting in one...curse my hypocrisy!! Edit : I noticed that too Jerry...I was going to comment but you beat me to it. Philly fan...to each thier own, I guess... Edited November 2, 2007 by Bulletproof

NJD Jester
He might. Did you see the ad at the bottom of his blog? That's the first thing I thought when I read that URL, too. I've actually interviewed the founders of Outsports on several occasions -- good folks, and the site has a very strong message of tolerance. So keep the gloves on, boys... <JESTER> Edited November 2, 2007 by NJD Jester
sammyk
Personally, I don't care how many people we draw a night. Considering the market we are in, it's great that we can draw 13,000 people for a Halloween game against the Bolts of all teams. There were four games that night and the Devils had the second highest attendance. The Stars drew ~1000 more.

Shapeshift
The thing that just BURNS me up is that no one ever says....for a team with NO major city behind it, they do okay. Think about it. That's bulls--t that the Devils are a NY team because no one from New York would dare they say they like anything Jersey. Sure, they are in the NY media market, but so what....they play second fiddle to the Rangers....not to mention the ten million other pro franchises in this area. Let's face it, they had their backs up against the wall moving here. You are trying to draw a fanbase from say 75% of North Jersey. Many Ranger fans refused to evolve into Devils fans, hence my 3/4 number. South Jersey hates our state and feels no connection to anything NJ. People who live south of Trenton can't even get Devils games!! I think they are doing quite well considering the odds... Sorry, I guess anything remotely attendance related sickens everyone. I'm still a little wet behind the ears here.....go easy on me.

We are a "NJ" team in the "NY" market, but the Giants and the Jets are "NY" teams that play in NJ but in the "NY" market. Someone tell how the media gets around that one time and time again. Derek21
Rangerr$ had a bunch of empty seats last night for the camera. Was it half full with barely any noise at all? Game 2 in your brand new state of the art arena and you can't do better? I was told there weren't more than 8,000. That's embarrassing. You got your arena which looks very nice. There are no more excuses.

Ever heard of that? halloween? Yeah, that's right. I'm tired of those excuses, I don't give a crap if the Devils are packed full or there's 2k people in that new arena. I don't give a sh!t. I wanna see my team playing, and play some nice Hockey.. Yeah, some people might say that drawing 2k people is embarrasing... But I don't care. See, I could care less wether or not the Devils will draw 40 SOLD OUT GAMES. See, here in Montreal, its always full. Do anybody out there give a crap? No. Wasn't you who thought the Devils fans were bitter towards the Rangers or their fans? Edited November 2, 2007 by TravisZajac
