nyrsuck26
A truly sad day in baseball. Yankee Stadium was never the same after he stopped doing the PA. RIP.
DaneykoIsGod
The first game he ever announced featured Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and Ted Williams. The guy has seen it all. Rest in peace.

Hi, I'm VALUE!
that was Bob Murphy I'm not sure how Bob Murphy ever got into the conversation, but the story behind the "Voice Of God" was that Bob Sheppard actually made a trip to Boston and announced Reggie Jackson when he came to bat, causing Reggie to refer to him as the "Voice of God" in a post-game news conference. I'm not sure what you're referring to, as I know approximately 0 Mets lore, but if you got a story, bring it up.
yankeesjetsfan
I always said if my childhood had a voice, it would be his. God Bless Bob Sheppard. Mike
Jerrydevil
that was Bob Murphy You're both wrong. It was John Facenda. But I enjoyed Bob Murphy and Bob Sheppard tremendously. Two men who were great at what they did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3K4Fjv85MY
