95Crash
This thread convinced me, I am never going to a game again. Now I too am debating whether or not to go to a game anytime soon. I can deal with the team sucking if they are at least giving an honest effort, but eardrum-busting music and noise has the potential to make the fan experience unbearable. ATLL765
i feel as if its gotten louder from last season.. maybe theyre trying to drown out fan volume on the tv or something Nah, I think it's the same it's always been. It's just always been too loud, lol.
Zubie#8
Just a little advice for the guy with the horn or vuzuela or whatever the hell that thing is called, you do not need to blow it constantly for minutes on end, blow it a few times to get the chant going and thats it. Jesus....

Jesus.... I just don't understand how that guy isn't also really annoyed by the noise. I don't think I've met anyone who actually likes vuvuzelas. NewarkDevil5
It seems to me that with new owners the wisest thing to do would be to run surveys looking for fan advice to improve the game experience. I don't mean just among season ticket holders either. Get the advice of your customers to find out what needs to be changed because if you make a guy who only comes to a few games a year happier he might buy a partial plan. If you please a partial plan owner he might ratchet up to a full plan. This is basic business sense that customer service is key to any business and in particular to an entertainment based business. It's not the owners. It's the entire Devils management. They need to do a better job at communicating with their customers for sure.

Well the reason I single out the owners is because Vanderbeek was actually making strides in the customer service department with all the meet and greets and whatnot. I have not seen any attempts at that kind of fan outreach from this new ownership group.

He was TOO MUCH of a fan, and he made bad financial choices because of it. Owners don't need to interact with the fans.

Owners don't need to interact with the fans. I don't think he made bad financial decisions because of his fandom, he made bad financial decisions because he thought the horses he was betting on would win and they didn't. I separate the arena experience from the team on the ice. He started cutting corners because he couldn't afford the commitments he'd made, which is sad because he really did make major strides in improving the fan experience. Maybe those improvements weren't paying for themselves instantly as he thought they would, but I think the strides made in attendance were partially due to those efforts. The Kovalchuk deal for one. That was a bad move if he was in as deep financial strife as he apparently was.

ATLL765
but how does that support that he made that move because he was "too much of a fan" Because many fans have thought that the Devils needed that top flight type of talent despite LL's insistence on avoiding those types of players in FA. Christmas Tree
Nice to see a real GDT! Man, could Philly be any more of a joke franchise? They still think they can fight their way to wins I live in Philadelphia and you are absolutely right. It's pathetic. I am ashamed of my home team.
