No doubt. I hate that he was thrown to the wolves and relied upon to run the first powerplay on a team expected to make playoffs. He’s been put in positions to fail and not learn from his mistakes. And that’s on coaching/fitz.
I have been very disappointed with him this season. I get he’s taking on more minutes and tough assignments that he really shouldn’t be getting at this stage of his career, but he’s making the same mistakes he made in October.
And the lethargy has to go from his game. It must be a result of him being able to out-skate everyone at every level, but in this league you will get punished for it.
I hope we lose every game the rest of the way. 1) it’ll eliminate any delusions Fitzgerald may have of keeping Green, and 2) improve our draft position for a meaningful trade. 3) fvck these losers
Makes you think about all those dropped points to the Ducks, Sharks, Blue Jackets, Mtl. Such a damn shame because those are easy points in the bag with appropriate coaching or half-adequate goaltending.
One guy who was the talk of this board last year and hasn’t been mentioned at all is Spencer Knight. Would the Panthers be willing to entertain offers this offseason? Bob has been great and Knight has been in the AHL. Great pedigree as a prospect. Classic buy low example.
I don’t know you can be so certain. If we acquire a Markstrom with his age and injury history (and this club’s recent luck with injuries), I can totally see Allen playing a ton. And that would only be a mild upgrade from the sh!tshow in net this season, while costing us a hefty price in a second rounder.
I’d prefer Ullmark over Saros due to better recent numbers and not being undersized.
As for Casey, I’d consider him expendable with the rookie crop we already have on D. Also his small stature could be a real issue in the NHL.
