njdevil26
So the dude's a troll bastard. Comes here to tell us we suck. Creates multiple names and starts trouble, gets caught, and tells us we suck some more. Listen man, get up out of your videogame chair, you know, the one with the speakers in them that vibrates when you think you've correctly pwned other eight year olds across the globe who are just as busy of a go-getter as you are, and leave us alone. Go post on a Ranger board, unless you've already been booted from there as well... Message board sabotage AHHHH!@#@!(&(@#&$!@#!@
DevilinLA
meh, i find the board to be pretty good about other teams fans posting here, i mean I'm a hardcore Canucks fan and nobody, with the exception of some dude a few years back that called me a dirty pirate hooker, has ever said anything......but thats only because i'm cooler than everyone... seriously Annabelle - Got to give your team and your Canucks fans some serious credit. They came to play the Kings tonight at Staples Center in LA. about 50 or so hardcore fans, easily out-screamed, out-spirited, and out-enthuised an entire building of Kings fans - even as their team trailed up until the final 2 minutes. It just amazed me how much a small crowd of really die-hard loving hockey fans brought to the normally boring and dull Kings arena. Additionally, many of them saw me there in my Brodeur jersey and cheered "Go Devils!!" to me. A classy bunch....I wonder if this is typical. Definately made my night more fun! Pepperkorn
Truth be told, I was actually a Devil fan originally! My house is filled with Ranger fans. Went to my first hockey game...wow, I don't even remember...early 90s? New Jersey Devils vs Vancover Canucks. Canucks won 4-3. From then on I was a Devil fan! Kirk Muller (number 9!), Kevin Todd (14!) became my favorites. And I was a huge fan of Craig Billington, Richer, etc. I didn't "hate" the Rangers at all. And I thought the 1994 series was one of the best, ever. My "dislike" with the Devils started actually 1995 and reached the breaking point in 2000. *shrugs* God knows the Rangers sucked during this time (especially 1998 onward). It was some of the "fans" in high school that made me not like the team. I won't get into details, but in 2000 was when I officially switched my affiliation. I don't hate the team, per se. And I don't want to say I "hate" the fans (I mean, I'm talking to you guys! : ) but, a certain few "elitist" fans growing up - I hate to say - swayed me! xxchaznjxx
Thats kinda funny. I became a Devil fan in 1992, when they switched to red and black, (it caught my eye for some reason. I was 11). But I became a die hard after having to take all the poo from Ranger fans in 1994. Ugh, I still remember bein in 7th grade and having to hear my classmates (if any of them followed hockey, they were ranger fans) yelling 'Matteau' to me in the hall and waving the back page of the paper when they won the cup 2 weeks later. I can also still remember watchin the 1997 Devs-Ranger series with my Uncle, who had season tix for the Rags and has been a life-long fan, asking me what he ever did to make me a Devil fan, haha. Rangerfans
I'm sure it was all the Rangers fans razzing err... ... Devils fans..... boasting about the parking lot parade that did it. I'm sorry Rangerfan -- I kid, I kid Edited March 11, 2008 by Rangerfans
SatansDevils
Haha! I don't know what did it. Subconsciously I was just getting aggravated by the Devils, I suppose. *shrugs*And I don't mind jokes I think I did! I mean, I was glad that the Devils won the cup in 95 due to their phenomenal work in 1994. But I didn't parade around pretending to be a "Devil" fan...nor did I pretend to be a "Ranger" fan though. There was definitely 2-3 years of indecisiveness. I was an "NHL" fan for a few years Whatever, bro. Excellent retort. I mean, I guess you're right. I do not doubt that my family had an influence (whether consciously or not) on my choosing the Rags over the Debs. There really wasn't much to cheer for. Overpaid "has beens" trying to buy the cup, wasn't exactly appealing. Like I said, for a while I really didn't have an affiliation. After the lockout (and the thought of no hockey) definitely got my interest in it again...the realization that hockey could be "gone" definitely makes me value it even more. But back to what you said about peer pressure? Eh...I can't really say that was the "it" factor. I had some bad run in with devil fans, no doubt (as a Dev fan too at the time)...I don't have an answer. I guess Fate got involved Agreed. I don't want to start trouble. The three most hated fans (in my eyes) in no particular order is as followed: ***Obviously there are GREAT fans from every team. This is rather the stereotypical, fans that I loathe*** Flyer Fans. Idioitic, uneducated hockey fans that want nothing more to goon and injure. Devil fans: From my experience, extremely arrogant. Their loathe for the Rangers (when they're not even remotely involved with anything) is an annoyance...but this is coming from a Ranger fan Ranger fans: SO many fair weathered fans. If a player messes up, "Fire Renney, Lundy sucks, etc." When you're a die-hard fan that sticks with your teams through tough times (ie: My father has liked the Rags since the dawn of time. Followed them through the Fat Cat years, the Isles crushing them 5 years in the playoffs, etc.) and always support your team, then fine. Otherwise, get the hell away from my team. Haha! There were years when I was sorry too! And you're absolutely right. Devils have dominated the league for years. But because of that, no one can argue that I am a 'front-runner' for choosing a dumbass team for years over a dominant NJ team.
Rangerfans
Understood and you might just want to switch back as still the Devils are the better team to root for. we won't call you a "front runner" you would just be a "smart fan who made the right choice". SatansDevils
lol!Thank you, friend! I do want to hit up a Devil game this year (Perhaps a Devs, Pitt) at The Rock to check out your great arena. It'll be hard though! Getting calls from Devil fans on how much the Rangers suck and how the Devils are in first (mind you this was back in like November!) can hinder me embracing the Devil's blackened wings

CaptainLangs
If Gomez were to sign with any team that was not a divisional opponent or did not rival the Devils just for money, that would be fine by me, he has that right. Rafalski did that out of respect for Lou, mentioning that an Atlantic rival offered him the same amount, very classy on his part and I cannot comprehend on how much I appreciate him doing that. Yet Gomez signing with the most-hated rival of the team that brought him up, gave him a career, and developed him into the player he is today is, in my mind, selfish, shameless, and downright disrespectful. I don't care how sociable, outgoing, happy and "jolly" he is; he's a shameless, money-grabbing backstabbing pr1ck. He doesn't play for the Rangers and their fans, he plays for one thing and one thing alone - the High and Mighty Dollar. My respect for Marty skyrocketed after reading that. I WILL meet Martin Brodeur someday.
