NJayDevil
I'm honestly expecting a loss... On sunday night I posted that "Worried about a comeback" thread and I immediately said "NO!". Well I'm worried now. Amazing what 2 bad approached (conservative) games can do to the mind. So I am not expecting a win but if they do pull it off, I will be one HAPPY camper. And I will not be saying "Oh man I knew it, I knew it!" cause that's not how I'm going to feel. Unless they are up like 259832494-2 with 2 min. left, they I guess I will feel they will win. Please, do it Devs!
SBT
The SBT expects NJ to lay the Smackdown on Ottawa's candy ASSES!
westcoastdevfan
I expect the Devils to lose, but I expected a win tonight, so we'll see what happens.
devils744
i expect the team to be fired up and in the end shove this down the nhls throat.
NJayDevil
If they score that first goal, I will breathe a little easier for sure. They just gotta get that goal.
westcoastdevfan
If they score that first goal, I will breathe a little easier for sure. They just gotta get that goal. the first goal is gigantic. If the Sens pot the first one the Devs are done.
SBT
The first goal IS very important. But... even if Ottawa scores the first goal, it's still not over. NJ must continue to be patient and wait for their chances. And the chances WILL be there.
aylbert
The Sens will mess up... they will be expected to kill the Devs by the Ottawan crowd The Devs will win the series. We'll get the bounces this time unlike tonight... if the Devs win, I wont be I told you so... but I will say I believed it all along... if they lose, Ill admit my flaw, but wont blame Lou like some might for not getting "scorers". Ill be happy if the team loses in 7 to the #1 team in the leauge... but I dont think they will... I think they will have the experience to win the 7th game... they wont have the home to crowd to pressure them to take chances when its 0-0... Ottawa is young, and will try to be fancy... just how they were when they beat us in Game 5... however this time, the Devs will turn it around. DRafalski
New Jersey clearly has the edges: Burns, Brodeur, Stevens. Those three alone can win game seven with their experience and play. Jamie, John and Jeff need to play the game of the lives. I'm fully prepaired for a loss though, infact I felt like tonight was the end of the series in a sense. I felt the Devils were the favorites in this series and the way things have been going, the underdog always pulls through. We shall see though. I bet Ottawa will come out a little lighter feeling as if they've dodged the bullet, and the Devils need to take advantage of that.

Triumph
I expect the Devils to play their hearts out. That's all.
ice dog
if the Devils are even half as pissed off as I am, they will come out and crush those damn euro-wuss players to hell...I'm not giving up on this team, and niether should anyone here...the Devils will not die with out a fight...Burnsey will certainly light a fire under there collective asses... LetsGoDevils
I expect the Devils to take game seven. It all comes down to if the Refs will let the teams play or decide the game for the NHL. Devils all the way!!
NJDevs4978
My prediction: Devs get the first goal, then resume their sitting back and Ottawa comes back and wins 4-2. Oh and the refs suck again But who knows; that's why they play the games. Maybe Ottawa gets overanxious in a Game 7, maybe the Devils play to win again. Hopefully that'd be enough to carry us through.
HellOnICE
they are either gonna get crushed, or they are gonna win
LetsGoDevils
Of course, the Devils winning in seven falls right into my playoff predictions. Muhahahaha!
SensSpaz
Shred, Somehow I think Ottawa's "euro-wusses" aren't who New Jersey should worry about..... Ottawa has won every game against the Devs where a North American player has scored.... Perhaps they should have worried about White, Van Allen, Spezza, and Phillips? Although then they would have left those damn euros open. Game 7, look out for Smolinski, Fisher, Redden, Schaefer and .....well Leschyshyn is a long shot. I will make a double prediction.....Since Ottawa was down by 3 games in Game 5 and won 3-1, down by 2 games in Game 6 and won 2-1, Then Game 7 will be 1-0 for the Sens. But I have seen this type of game before and it usually ends up being a blow out. The Devs probably psyched themselves up for Game 6 by not wanting to go back to Ottawa. Now that they are, what can they use for motivation, since that didn't work. SO I will say 5-2 Sens. I hope it will be an exciting game! LIDevsFan1
I honestly don't expect the Devils to score more than one goal. I would love Lalime to stink up the joint a la games 2 and 4 but I don't see it happening yet that's the only way I think we'll win. I expect Marty to be solid but he'll give up two. This team is not built for OT and Game 7s. We're like a team full of Scottie Pippens, but we have no Michael Jordan. Elias is the guy who's supposed to get the big goal for us but other than Game 7 aainst Philly in 00, he hasn't done it. Remember what Jagr did to us in Game 6 in 99 ? We just don't have the offensive guy like that to step up and take the game into his own hands.
sundstrom
3-1 devils. game is actually a little EASIER than we all thought. devils score 2 in the 1st and stifle for the rest of the game
BlueSkirt
I expect Devs to be too tight & turn their sticks to sawdust in their hands. I guess the Game 7 losses in '88, '92, '94, '99 & '01 are in my head. I can't shake this "I've seen it before feeling". Hunger is what is separating these 2 teams. And separating a chance to play for the Cup.

Yup---although 88 and 02 would have been pleasent surprises if they won. This is just sheer disappointment. (Although admittedly we have won some Game 7s in 94 and 00 and 01.) Maybe its the weather, but I don't feel any better the morning after.
BlueSkirt
You're right, The weather seems appropriate for my feelings this morning. Tomorrow things will seem better, but we still have the same issues. Countless times last night I saw our guys play the safe play & pull back from challenging for the puck. That is going to kill us if it continues.
