NLinfante
They can keep Butler and Matteau on the roster and hope that Darche sticks around without a contract until they're ready to send Matteau back to juniors.
iamtheprodigy
im thinking they want to keep Darche and Matteau for a few games ? it could explain things Well we'd have to sign Darche first for that to be the case. Maybe Lou is finishing up a contract with him.
SterioDesign
Well we'd have to sign Darche first for that to be the case. Maybe Lou is finishing up a contract with him. i read they were talking today so it's possible TG is thinking like me. My guess is Devils want to sign Darche/keep Matteau and can't do both and keep Butler and carry 8 D (with Janssen and Barch on roster too). i'd waive and buy out the sh!t out of Barch, why did we signed that godamn useless piece of sh!t anyway ? Lou didnt learned from last year when Janssen and Boulton didnt play a single second of playoffs Edited January 18, 2013 by SterioDesign
devilsrule33
Janssen, Darche, Bernier, Carter, Gionta, Barch. How many plugs can one team have?
DevilMinder
This is just a situation where we have to wait and see, too many variables. For all we know Lou is asking Darche to give the Devils the hang around Albelin treatment in the hopes of a future slot.
iamtheprodigy
Janssen, Darche, Bernier, Carter, Gionta, Barch. How many plugs can one team have? Enough to fill out the bottom two lines plus extra goons?
Steadevils
Maybe he didn't show enough defensive responsibility and Tedenby beat him out. If this is the only move, I see some potential PP time for Tedenby. Even though they play opposite wings they were competing for one spot in my mind. That spot being last years Sykora's PP specialist/defensively unrelaible spot. Put that player with Elias and let him cover up for the defensive shortcomings. Triumph
Janssen, Darche, Bernier, Carter, Gionta, Barch. How many plugs can one team have? Darche is not a plug and does not belong in that conversation.
nmigliore
TG speculates they want to keep Darche AND Matteau but can't keep both along with Butler and 8 defensemen on the roster. Of course, this would be a lot easier if we didn't carry two goons or weren't carrying 8 defensemen... SterioDesign
RenLavoieRDS Mathieu Darche est toujours avec les Devils, mais sans contrat. Il va continuer de s'entraîner avec les Devils au cours des prochains jours. its saying that Darche is still in NJ without contract but that he will continue to practice with them for a few days
msweet
Re-counting the forwards, it would still be impossible to keep Matteau and sign Darche without sending someone down in addition to Butler. -TG
MadDog2020
With Lou, you never know... But I think he may have a defensemen-for-forward deal lined up.

devilsrule33
As the Devils have showed time and time again, guys like Carter and Clarkson can handle themselves. Pretty much everyone can handle themselves. You keep wanting to have fake fights than Janssen is your man. The guy hasn't been in a real spur of the moment fight as a Devil ever. So we'll keep him on the roster playing 3 awful minutes every 2nd night for it. But Janssen can't play. He isn't even good at fighting. So we'll bring in another guy who also sucks, but can stay on the ice just a bit longer without totally being awful, yet still being awful. in Krys Barch. And we'll give them all 2-year deals. Always. Everytime.
Daniel
With Lou, you never know... But I think he may have a defensemen-for-forward deal lined up. As things are looking now, that better be the case. I know Lou can be stubborn about things, but there is zero reason that Barch and Janssen should be on the roster when there's only one extra forward opening (2G, 8D, 13F). Lou wouldn't waive Butler without a good reason. There's gotta be something coming down later. The way the roster numbers are lining up as a result of this almost screams it. We'll have to see if anyone isn't on the ice for practice at 3:00.

Derlique
Zidlicky better put up ppg and Larsson better get at least 20 points because we literally have no offense besides Kovy,Elias and Zajac lol

If Zid can put up 30+ points and Larsson can do 20+ along with Greene, it won't be too bad, but there's gonna be no help from Sal, Volch, Tally and most likely Fayne isn't gonna help much either(though I'd be pretty happy to see him hit 20pts, I think he could do it).
