  1. No hindsight involved; I was up for Palms being extended until his walk year, which flat-out wasn't good, and at that point, it absolutely made sense to reconsider. I would've been open to bringing him back on a one-year "show me" deal, but obviously Fitz wasn't interested in anything long-term (he and Palms' agent did talk prior to Palms being dealt to the Isles, but the talks didn't go far, mostly because Palms' camp clearly wanted something for 4+ years). My daughter and I met Palms (meet and greet) and he's definitely a nice dude. I liked the fact that I think he got the most out of his ability while he was here, and it felt like he fought for everything he got, but some Devils fans definitely weren't, well, fans of his...I remember the posts complaining about him falling too much or not being consistent enough (though for most of his time here, his rate numbers were incredibly similar by each season's end). My contention was that he was what he was...a guy who was hot and cold but good for 50-60 points and about 30 G per 82 GP. He finally got there again, but I'm glad that it wasn't the Devils who had to watch him slog through three meh seasons to get back there.
  2. I’ll give them a mild pass because I’m sure that whole team was shell-shocked. But that being said, I have no idea how The Kings of The Loser Points recover from this. It won’t surprise me if they have little fight left.
  3. Oh well, still have a shot at a .500 trip, which was all I was asking going in. The Met pitchers have to stop with the deep counts and walks…they’re averaging 4.6 walks per 9 IP, which is flat-out unacceptable. And it’s really starting to bite them right in the ass.
  4. WHAT?! I was as big of a fan of Palms as anyone, but in his walk year he was extremely meh, and that carried over to his first two full seasons as an Islander (you can look up the numbers). He had a nice year for them this season (though he has the worst +/- on his team by a LOT), but I completely understood why Fitz chose to move him instead of re-signing him. The Isles have not gotten a great return on that investment.
  5. I’ve never understood people who think admitting that you made a mistake and being willing to apologize for it is somehow a sign of weakness. Not to mention that these people ALWAYS make things worse and harder on themselves than they need to be. Hunter would’ve gotten some props for simply saying he was sorry, and that would’ve been the end of it.
  6. Yeah Fitz was highly thought of and it was only a matter of time before someone was giving him a shot.
  7. If nothing else, at least damned near EVERYONE in the media is calling Hunter out for being a complete a$$hole who simply can’t admit when he’s wrong.
  8. All he had to say was “I’m sorry, I apologize to Aaron, I thought he said something but he clearly didn’t, it turned other it was a fan, my mistake.” fvcking jerkoff.
  9. Lol he tried to say it was someone on the bench, and claimed that makes Boone responsible. I really HATE when people fvck up and think they can just arrogantly act like they didn’t REALLY.
  10. Green probably thinks he’s too good to settle for being an assistant now. Right pal.
  11. Go fvck yourself Hunter you fat “thank god for my daddy” fvck. You were WRONG. You fvcked up. Own it! https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/yankees/2024/04/22/umpire-hunter-wendelstedt-ejects-aaron-boone-fan-heckler-mistake/73418470007/
  12. To that, I would ask them exactly what version of Ruff do they think they’re getting? Look, maybe when he was much younger and getting his team to a SCF and three ECFs, he had something to offer at that time. But Good Lord, this guy was getting ripped damned near all over the place last season. I think any Sabres fans who think Lindy will somehow bring some magic with him is going to be sorely disappointed.
  13. It makes no sense. Feels like they hired him strictly due to his ties with that franchise. It’s beyond bizarre.
  14. My daughter: OMG why would they do that? Their turn to suck!
