Triumph
https://twitter.com/#!/ice_chip/status/160557281551978496 I like it. I was going to bring up Jason Blake as a possible 3rd line LW to get for the playoffs. I like Ponikarovsky's skill set.

Triumph
Going the other way are a 2012 4th round pick and D Joe Sova - Sova looked like he had some interesting skills but he is stuck behind about 12 other guys on this team. Colin226
So what does he bring to this team?
jagknife
-12 w/ 7 goals.. He now is 8th on our team in goals, the only player above 5 but below 10. Palmieri now falls to 9th with 4...
Amberite
Not bad at all considering what we gave up. Ponikarovsky has really dipped since being in Toronto but he's still much better than almost anyone on our 3rd / 4th lines. If he can regain the form he had for the Maple Leafs then this is a steal and a half.
jagknife
So what does he bring to this team? a low cap-hit and a 6'4" frame?
ScoreMoreThan3
This dude actually seems pretty good but his numbers have plummeted over the years.

Triumph
Yeah, Ponikarovsky is good in the corners. I think we'll see Tedenby going to the minors sooner rather than later. He's a good fit with Clarkson, I think - Ponikarovsky-Josefson-Clarkson is a pretty formidable 3rd line.

devilsrule33
I remember when Burke wanted a 1st for him a few years back. Easy deal to make with little downside. Guess that's it for Tedenby for the season.

If he had, we'd be able to roll 4 offensive lines once Zajac is back in the mix.

Yeah, but Josefson can make people look good on the 4th line. At the very least they won't get pinned in their own end. And if Ponikarovsky pans out we'll be rolling 3 real good lines. Zubie#8
In his best years with the Leafs he was a Zubrus type player with a better shot, hopefully he can get back to form and make our 3rd line more complete.

Yeah, but I kinda fear Zajac will be on the shelf for longer than the team's letting on. I want to say shut him down until April, allow him to rest and rehab, use the reg season games in April to get in shape for the playoffs and have him 100% for it. devilsrule33
Maybe Lou is seeing how strong Boston is with 4 solid lines. Hopefully this deal bumps the right guys out of the lineup.
lazer
does anyone know why 4 teams in 4 years? can we call him poni express too bad about teddy can we make poni a pmD man? lol Edited January 21, 2012 by lazer
DevsMan84
Didn't give up much and our third line now looks a lot better. Tedenby is done for the year.
ScoreMoreThan3
I guess it couldnt hurt to have him around here, still its not breath taking. Well in reality he's on a better team now, hopefully he plays like he wants to be in the playoffs. I'm hearing he's a FA at the end of the year so if he ends up sucking I guess the Devils won't have to deal with him any further after the season. PWW
He's definitely an upgrade to the 3rd line. One thing I like that he brings is that he plays a physical game. His stats already put him 3rd on the Devils in hits. Plus, he's a big dude. I think this was a steal for the Devils at best and a wash at worst.
