These warmups largely appeal to non-game worn collectors. Therefore it is not like they are stretching a finite group of people pretty thin. The Devils also have Black History and Gender Equality nights coming up over the next 1-2 months. I am assuming the Devils will likely be wearing a special warmup jersey for those nights too. There is also Lunar New Year night on 2/1, and while I know some teams do special warmups for those (I believe Vegas does), I am not so sure if the Devils will. Having that jersey would be her way of saying "I'm with all of you, regardless of who you love, or how you identify." If those jerseys ever become available off-the-rack, I'll get her one. Kinda sad that the two best jerseys since Adidas took over are the Heritage and the RR...hell, if the Devils had ever decided to go with those full time (Heritage road, RR home) over the current jerseys, I would've been OK with it...I would've been OK with keeping the green, or switching that out for black. Really really REALLY hoping the RR Part 2 jerseys are something that has us all saying "Yeah I gotta snag one of THOSE!" Not overly optimistic. The closing times were staggered and done alphabetically. That puts Smith near the end. Typically in these kinds of auctions the players at the end sell at higher prices because bidders who have to have one but missed out on other shirts start to get desperate. I'm out of the jersey business for now...will eventually jump back in for Mercer, Holtz, possibly L Hughes. Almost the same as how a guy who hits .330 seems like he's ALWAYS hitting. Or even worse...man it sure FEELS like the Devils wear the Jersey jersey constantly. And on that note...if you go to a Jersey jersey night game, the Devils logo is done up in monochrome black and white on the scoreboard. Picture the below, but no gray at all...the NJ part is also black: Seriously, just make that black outer ring red (since "hint of red" seems to be a design point), and the black jersey suddenly becomes a LOT better...still not as cool as it could've been, but friggin' light years ahead of the current crest. Devils still have the St. Patrick's Day ones to auction off that they wore this past Saturday and they have Military Appreciation up on the horizon as well. It's not over yet lol. Believe it or not, the Devils are just catching up to a bunch of other teams who wear a ton of these specialty-themed warm-up jerseys. I think the Devils are doing nine this year which is far more than they have done in the past, but still behind other teams (looking at you Vegas and LA Kings). In fact, the LA Kings recently did a "Star Wars" specialty warm-up night recently and in the past they have done other warmups like Dodgers-themed ones.
