I cant count the number of good cycles on one hand. the defense on the other hand has no idea what to do in the middle of the ice. Board work is good, decisions in the middle are atrocious. and kovalchuk? he caused a goal for and a goal against... that'd be a wash. Its going to take some time to see what the "new" devils are capable of. I had a feeling the first game after the trade might be a bit disappointing. And it's on everybody: Marty, the defense and the offense, which can't produce either. The Devils need some magic in the 3rd period and they can't count on Kovy all the time. That's he's first game here, he only had one practice with the team, he actually learned that he's gonna be a Devil yesterday. It would be great to see him score in his debut, but it's no big deal if he doesn't and it's fully understandable. The pressure should be on Zach and co. to get Jersey back into this.
