Live as a punk, die by a punk.

I didn't realize punching was part of hockey. I'd like to see them hit back but without resorting to such tactics. They made a big mistake not dressing either Hollweg or Orr for this one. The Devils are running our guys. Janssen knocked out Malik with a hit. Hollweg at least keeps guys honest.

Little Hosa's with the punch to Gomez's stomach was ok right?

I'm sure some saw #22 in red a number of years back as a "punk".

Punks don't fight Claude would so there for he would not be a punk.

Oh and great game thanks :hail: Tivo.

some comments from the game......

man the Devils HIT today and in FORCE.... loved that :)

Also gotta say I loved the new bit from section 217 when Kasper and Roseval got knocked to the ice that they started a 10-count that caught on big time on my side of the arena  ... hope to hear more of that B )

Didn't like the last 10 minutes of the game.... we got too apprhensive and almost afraid to attack (but considering our PAINFUL lack of offense it's understandable)... lucky it didn't bite them in the ass today

nice to see Gomez involved in ALL THREE GOALS (Nice pass to suckora a$$hole :P)

and the star of the game was the post/crossbar in the 3rd B )

still a game they don't win 2 months ago... I go sleep happy !!!

First time I've heard it and I've been sitting on that side the last 4 seasons... go figure!

Oh yeah I TOTALLY forgot... nice fvcking job CAA getting the arena (NOT) ready for one of the bigger games of the season this year... yes I know the Nets went to OT (how about a game of horse to get those idiots out for a good sport eh?) and the time was short... but how about that MASSIVE hole in the ice to start the game and not to mention the GARBAGE condition the ice was in for the first period.... again another A Plus job of fvckng up the hockey experience here.... jackasses... 2007 can't get here FAST ENOUGH !!!!

Kaspar doesn't fight because his team needs him out there a little more than the Devils need Marshall. Losing a defenseman for five when they're already down one isn't smart.

P.S. Marshall imitated Fleury. No place in hockey for that.

If he is going to cheap shot numerous players around the league and injure them and take them out of the lineup he should have enough balls to drop the gloves once in a while. The guy is a real punk. Avery and Lemieux are good at getting people under their skin but Kaspar is more cheap than anything else.

I'll respectfully disagree dr. Playing physical is part of the game. Kaspar does play on the edge and that's why he pisses off the opposition. But in my book, he gets underneath their skin effectively. Take tonight. Marshall took two boneheaded penalties which could've cost his team in a close game. And against Philly, Brashear was so obsessed with knocking him out that he took the Flyers right out of that one.

Call him whatever you want to because he doesn't fight. But if Colin White who is no angel did the same thing and then wound up dropping the gloves, you might not be pleased. Simple reason: White is arguably the Devils best physical defensive defenseman. He's needed on the ice. Not in the box.

Back to the game which I just finished recapping. I'll make it simple:

Cam Janssen- 4:15 TOI

Sometimes stats can be misleading. He knocked out one of our top two defenseman and nearly took out the other half with a clean hit. That's what helped win the game for the Devils. That's why Renney was foolish for not playing Hollweg. Hollweg is a better version of Janssen because he can play more shifts with the same high energy and keep opponents honest. And he is a great forechecker. Renney messed up tonight. If there is a weakness on this Ranger team, it's that they don't have many physical guys like that.

P.S. This really was a cardinal copy of the Rangers' win which snapped the Devil streak six weeks ago. Except the Devils were even luckier to hang on.

I'll make a prediction. Actually two:

1.The Devils will pass the Flyers

2.The Rangers and Devils will meet this Spring. I hope it's 2nd or 3rd round.

Little Hosa's with the punch to Gomez's stomach was ok right?

You meant Ortmeyer. Not Hossa. Ort got away with one there. Happy?

A shot? The Rangers have the kind of team that could easily bow out first round - a no-name defense and finesse scoring. They will rely on Lundqvist - if he's anything but great, they will have a hard time winning playoff games.

I think you're underestimating them. They have very good scoring balance and were without Prucha tonight who doesn't back down from anyone. And he'll be playing third line.

They can play gritty. Tonight, they just didn't bring that extra gear. Don't expect that in crunch time. It will be difficult, but I'll let you in on a little something. I BELIEVE!

Just saw the highlights, nice dance by Marshall! Nice punch in the face too, normally I wouldn't approve of it, but whenever you see #6 and the name Kasper on the back of that jersey (especially a Ranger jersey) I typically want some sort of blood or pain to happen to him. Not meaning life threating or career ending, but definitely some pain you know. Glad he got what he deserved. I'm sure that won't stop him from elbowing and kneeing people tho...ah oh well, he'll just get another one to the face then...

Kinda like having the Rangers in 1st place for right now, finally some life back into this rivalry, while kicking their ASSES 30 games in a row always put a smile on my face, beating them when they are good again is much sweeter.

Definitely a fun night at the arena although it was a surprisingly subdued crowd given the fact it was almost a sellout and it was a big game between the two teams. Five points since the break is definitely good.

On Marshall, I thought he was kinda losing it there for a second  But he wasn't entirely unjustified with the punch - one I didn't see at the arena but I'm sure he did it judging by the testimony here, that said I definitely thought there was a little embelishing going on by the Rangers to try to get calls :P and calling a minor on a chicken flap is a bit much, maybe if it wasn't Marshall given what he did earlier it wouldn't have been a penalty but oh well.

I was stunned the Rangers didn't play Lundqvist, I know he played like six games in Torino but he could lose a little bit of a his edge with too much rest. That said, Renney's done a good job getting Weekes back into a groove, he was damn near booed out of the Garden two months ago.

I'm still wary of a playoff matchup with them (particuarly in the first round) cause of Lundqvist having a charmed year and Jagr having an MVP-caliber one, plus a bunch of gritty lower-line players not to mention Renney's coaching. But tonight was a good win, we've gotten our heads handed to us by them a bunch this year and it was nice to turn the tables. And with Elias, the Devils have been every bit as hot as the Rangers since the new year.

Anyone who thinks this was a trap game wasn't watching. If anything it was a prevent defense in the third period, not a trap one. Fortunately the Rangers didn't get anywhere near in sync till it was too late.

731's right, Marty won't get enough credit for the win stat - for the same reason Curtis Martin doesn't get enough credit for rushing for a thousand yards like eight consecutive years. Consistency isn't as gaudy or memorable as big numbers are. But definitely another one Marty earned although he had some well-deserved luck on his side tonight

How's Fiji?

Fiji was absolutely amazing. Fijian's are the nicest people you will ever meet. Soaked up some sun, partied with these real cool British guys for acouple days, and drank some Kava. Beautiful place with rolling green hills with random waterfalls and rivers falling from them or flowing thru them. I recommend it to anyone. I wish I saw more of the surrounding islands but I don't think I'm in the position to complain...

Just read about the game- missed it because I'm currently in Boston visiting my sister and brother-in-law. Maybe the biggest win of the year. I probably won't be able to add anything to this thread that hasn't already been said by now, so I'm not going to. :D I'll just say HUUUUUUUUUGE win against our most hated rivals, and an even bigger 2 points. I just wanna see Marshall decking Kasperminus and then mocking him, so if someone can point me the way to that video, that would be great. :D

He got penalized for it and was given a questionable major and game. He paid the price.

Getting a suspension or a fine is never "paying the price"

Paying the price is when the said player suffers physical pain, that is getting even, THAT is paying the price

I was also surprised that Lundqvist didn't play too. His aunt, uncle and cousin was at the game and were going to watching him play and then go to the locker room.

That game was a good test for us though....Rangers coming off a 6 or 7 game winning streak and we shut them down for the most part.

What happened with the two guys who were taken out the the arena near section 104 and 105 at gate A is where they were taken outside...one guy in red shirt with about 5 security guards on him and another dude was taken out...and a girl went screeaming after them too..
