DevsMan84
"These are not last year's Penguins", they said. "Caps wil win", they said. Best were the Devils fans on Twitter and FB celebrating after Glencross' goal in game 5 as if the Rags were already eliminated. I am not very superstitious but damn did that drive me crazy and especially so after the Rags tied it with 101 seconds left. Even though the Caps dominated for I would say most of last night, I do not like their chances in game 7. I am already mentally prepared to face another Rags 2nd round 3-1 hole comeback series win. I just hope to god they will be banged up/tired enough to not make it through the next round.
mfitz804
Apparently Ovechkin has guaranteed a Caps victory in game 7. Is he planning on showing up? He has done jack since game 2.
DJ Eco
I knew the Caps were taking it to the Rangers but that's flat out domination and you'd hope they'd carry that over to Wednesday night. It won't, man... This is Game 7 at MSG and the Rangers' record in these is spotless. Just prepare yourself for the Rangers in the ECF and if anything else happens I'll be extremely pleasantly blown away, frankly. Chuck the Duck
Same story, different year. It's not surprising that a team that has choked throughout its existence comes up small yet again when it matters. Just like the Blues stayed true to form this postseason, so have the Caps. The Rags will win game 7 in a walk on Wednesday night.
MadDog2020
The Caps never pass up an opportunity to utterly embarrass themselves. I feel bad for their fans. Is he planning on showing up? He has done jack since game 2.Does the game mean something? Yes? Then no, probably not.
DJ Eco
I'm starting to hate the Capitals and the Penguins more than the Flyers and the Rangers. They find new and exciting ways every year to choke and energize and embolden our rivals (Flyers/Rangers). Every magical scintillating moment our rivals and their fans have experienced in the past 5 years can be attributed to the disaster that is the Penguins and Capitals and I'm starting to hate them more and more each year for that alone. A big game 7 at MSG on Wednesday and the Rangers are suddenly Cup favorites again, they'll ride that adrenaline straight to the Finals, when all the Capitals had to do was pull the trigger when they had them down and in their crosshairs. Matteau#32
On the CBC broadcast last night, they mentioned Caps have blown 3-1 leads 4 times, which is more than any other franchise. 87 vs Isles (the Pat LaFontane 67 OT game 7) 92 vs Pens 95 vs Pens 2010 vs Habs

Derek21
2015 vs Rangers will be added to the list. What a loser organization. 2013 makes it 5. I'm not sure how it'll go. All the talk from Ovechkin and Kuznetsov is just that. Every game has been tight. The Rangers better not think they can coast. They took their foot off the gas pedal last night and were lucky Hank bailed them out. It'll probably be another one-goal game. 2-1 or 3-2. Matteau#32
The Rags will win in OT now. You just know it. I'll be honest, I didn't think they were winning Friday night. I said on a Rangers board and on facebook they had to score in the first or they would lose. When the first period ended, thought it was over. When Glencross scored, it didn't phase me. When they scored, I didn't get excited as I thought they would still lose. Felt like 1990 all over again, Holtby=Druce. When McDonagh scored in OT, I didn't get excited, it was more of a sigh of relief. Last night, thought the same, that they had to score in the first period. When Kreider had a chance to score that 2nd goal early, (puck was behind Holtby, he got a stick on it, but at a terrible angle and he put it back into Holtby) I thought they may have blown it. Then, when he scored the 1st period buzzer-beater I thought they had this one. Even when the Caps cut it to 4-3, was still convinced the Ranges would win. 2013 makes it 5. I'm not sure how it'll go. All the talk from Ovechkin and Kuznetsov is just that. Every game has been tight. The Rangers better not think they can coast. The home team won the first 6 games and the Rangers won game 7 in Washington. It was a 3-2 lead. Edited May 11, 2015 by Matteau#
Derek21
The worst thing that happened for the Caps was that power play. They would be been better off sticking to 5 on 5, they were in total control. My mistake. I remembered wrong. They blew Game 7 to us in 2013. Lundqvist shut them out the final 2 games. Kinda agree about 5 on 5. But anytime a team has a 6 on 4 power play, it's scary. The good thing is you're able to ice the puck.

A lot of people seem to be thinking the same. They were just playing helter-skelter and had the Rangers running around. Then, they got the PP, went back to their system of feeding Ovi and the Rangers got back to their PK system. When the penalty was called I thought, "Too bad this isn't NHL 94, 95, or 96 for Sega." My wife looked at me like I was nuts and I said, "All you had to do on those games in this situation was get possesion, and hit the button for shoot. No matter where you were, the puck would be on net and you score the empty netter."

I do think the Rangers will win, but things change fast in the play-offs.As soon as Kreider scored the tying goal in game 5, I knew where this was headed. As I said last night- as easy to predict as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. The Caps just can't close to save their lives.

Kuznetsov should've kept his mouth shut. And Ovechkin- lmfao. Try showing up for a game before you start with the guarantees. Invisible since game 2. eldon
Aargh, no hockey tonight. Tampa scheduled Bette Midler at their arena. If it goes 7, next game is Thurs. (no back-to-back). I hate 2 day breaks.
