Some of you may be distracted by this Stanley thingy going on, but the EURO 2012 started today with Poland clinging on to a 1-1 draw against Greece.

Even though Spain, Germany and the Netherlands are the most mention as favorites to win the tournament, I am calling France to win it all.

I hope I am wrong and Germany comes through.

My Denmark is in a true "Group of Death" and with an injured starting keeper, Sorensen. Tough, tough draw..........yet as always, I hold out hope of a repeat of 1992.

I think the Germans are going to win. Not a good outcome for Poles, but whatever (personally, I don't mind it that much and I'm actually betting money on them).

Also, disappointed with the start by Poland - you can't afford to lose a game after a first half like that and with your opponent shorthanded. Luckilly, I think Russia beating the Czechs is a good score for us (they looked amazing tonight, Tuesday is gonna be tough), as we can even lose to the Russians and still have a chance to make it to the quarterfinals.

I'm really proud we're hosting the thing this year - most Poles didn't think they would get to see a tournament like this in Poland in their lives and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to see a second one in my lifetime, so I'm just going to enjoy the moment. Too bad I got no tickets and also, my city isn't one of the hosts.

I've started to follow soccer more consistently the past year so I'm DVR'ing all of the games. I don't really align myself with a nationality but I guess I'll pull for the Netherlands and Ireland since thats my ethnic background.

After the surprise lost of Holland... The next tour will be BIG... Germany/Holland.. with one team that could move to the next stage.. and another one that can be take out ... Both favorite and one goal change everything !

And i think France can make some noise (something around 1/2 final)... but Germany got my voice

The French really impressed me when they beat Germany in a friendly a few months ago. Germany didn't look very good, but I'll take the 3 points. Finally I can cheer for a Gomez again.
The Germans win, the Dutch lose, add a Devils victory and it will be a perfect day.

I will always roots against the Holland team... and the scandinavian one...
But to be fair, Holland was really screwed by referees on this game (something like 2 or 3 Penalty forgot)

Germany for the win. Pulling for Ireland, but not giving them much of a chance. I'll be satisfied if Germany can regain the Championship.

I don't care who wins as long as it's not Italy or Portugal or Spain. I mainly root against the teams that I see dive the most since I have 0 rooting interest.

Italy plays a beautiful game against Spain so far... they may not win at the end.. but i'm not even surprise.. They always find a way to be competitive when it's needed !

Lot of people here (included myself) aren't always in the same opinion of some USA decision or way of life.. but that's doesn't make us... Hate USA.
We ate US, we watch US, we listen US, we are friend with US people that start to live here... Stop listen cliché about your so-called hate for people that don't speak French (some of us will react awkwardy with people they don't understand, and could be seen as being rude)
