dmitri
I have heard (heard? read?) enough on this board about throwing today's game just to screw the Leafs. Silly! Let's have a poll.
Don
That is silly. I would never suggest *throwing* a game. But resting some guys that need a rest and not rushing guys back after injury would be the wise thing to do. And if that means the Leafs have an early end to their season, well, so be it. The guys that go out there today should be playing to win. I said last week that I'd like to see the Devils put in full effort this game as a tune-up for the playoffs. I wouldn't want to see them play like Calgary did last night in the third period. Once the game became meaningless, the Flames looked completely disinterested and I would hate to see that from the Devils today.
peteyvegas
I'm glad I'm not going to be home today, because I kind of want the Isles to win so all 3 teams make it into the playoffs. I know I couldn't stand to watch.

msweet
Yes, but not to help the Leafs... to save themselves from injury.
GOLDORAK
I'd rather see Sabres-Leafs than Sabres-Isles. Iwant the Sabres worn down as much as possible before we play them.

thelastonealive
HELLLLL NO. What I want to see happen is...1-0 Devils...Marty plays, earns his 13th shutout (and 4th against the Isles), Cam Janssen scores the game winning goal. Because what would be sweeter than Leafs fans having to thank Cam friggin Janssen for the right to get slaughtered by Buffalo?

LizDevil30
Did I mistakenly log into a Penguins board? I can't believe this thread is even on a Devils board. I can't believe a fanbase that has the best goalie of all time in the net for their team could consider such a thing. Three time Stanley Cup Champs don't get those Cups by losing. I find it so ironic that the the "integrity of the game" rests on the most maligned hockey team of the past 25 years, from Mickey Mouse to paint drying boring. NBC can kiss the Devs silver arses! From Has's sig: "The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns The Devils play to win. They play their best. A coach was fired from a team with over 100 points second place in the division because the bar is set so high. To even suggest throwing a game boggles the mind. And it boggles the mind to consider denying Marty the oppty to get win #49. But if he sits so be it. It most certainly doesn't suggest what Cherry bomb suggested that Lou is greedy. Clemmy can win this game as long as the team in front of him desires to do so. I don't see Lou settling for anything else but a win. The Devils are not the Flames, who I hope go down in flames at the hands of the Wings. Devils = Winners, but most of all a team that believes they can win every time they step onto the ice. The team Brodeur never even tested free agency for, which is another reason to hate the Devils. The little team that could from the little state that could. That is the NJ Devils team I root for! John Wensink
Play to win always. Never worry about what wining does do/for other teams. Besides it would be nice to hit 50 wins and Marty locking up most wins in season.
NYGDevils32
Hell no. You go out there to win day in and day out, no matter what. Anyway, it would be better to screw a local rival of the playoffs.

Spacefly
Devils dont throw games away, atleast not on purpose. Although I would rather have the Islanders make it, I think it's funny that Toronto has to cheer for us to win.
Elias 2662
If by throwing you meant playing lazily all game, there should be at least 18 votes for Yes (without Clemmer of course).
Elias 2662
I take full credit for turning off my TV and causing the comeback, as has happened many times this season.
LizDevil30
I was starting to have my doubts, but the Devils played to the final .8 of the season. LETS GO DEVILS!
SatansDevils
This was as close as throwing away a game as possible playing terrible for 52 minutes, starting Clemmy over Brodeur, than teasing the Isles fans by scoring two goals one with 0:09 left in regulation, then giving them the shootout with Clemmensen in goal which he was terrible and a huge five-hole.
