LucifersDog
If you believe what Pete and Lou say about Marty and going with the winner, Marty will start Friday in Detroit.
Beezer34
Hopefully Lou is just placating Marty's ego with quotes like that. He'd never embarrass Marty in the media. If Lou is shamelessly feeding Marty's ego, when Marty wins a 4-3.. 6-4 game facing 19 shots, then Lou himself deserves the messy end that this divorce is inevidably heading. He's barely .500 this season, with 15 wins in 30 starts.. and in those 15 victories, the team's scored 59 goals for him! I've really been trying to see it through Brodeurs eyes.. but if these newfound reports of him being pissed-off that he's still a Devils after 3pm yesterday are indeed true.. then it's really time to part ways in 4 months. What team in their right minds would play a 42 year-old goalie MORE than 30 games, with a .899 Sv%, and a 2.50 GAA??! The answer is; No One! --and THAT is how this whole fiasco should end! Yet sadly, to be defiant in the face of reality, Brodeur will spitefully sign on with another team next year, just to try to prove he was right. A trade-deadline like yesterday's, where the popular consensus is; "Lou couldn't move Marty, because nobody wanted Marty" -will only strengthen Brodeur's resolve in signing elsewhere come July. There is NO WAY that Brodeur will allow his career to end like this. ..it's a sad ending, to one of the games greatest.
devilsrule33
I take it back. Back supporting coach Deboer. Becoming clearer and clearer that he does what he needs to do...or told to do
