Neb00rs
So you have tracked the impact of turnovers? First off, I haven't seen you on here in awhile, but now that you are back, I have to say, I don't remember you being such a dick. Anyway, the point stands unaddressed, Semin = 2 goals, while getting plenty of offensive opportunities. It's great he has takeaways, and I am glad that his PIM have some reason behind them. That all doesn't mean sh!t against his basic statistics x situational play.

It was an honest question and I didn't intend to come off as a dick. Guys who have the puck a lot have a lot of turnovers.
NJDfan1711
Sooo...after this lengthy homestand is over I know our remaining schedule isn't all that favorable, but the Bruins remaining schedule consists of the Wings twice, the Capitals twice, the Lightning three times, and the Rags, Ducks, and Penguins. They also have a few bubble teams who won't be pushovers, like FLA three times and OTT twice. That's two-thirds of their schedule that could very well end up in losses. if that plays out like it might/should, we may just need some help from PHI/CBJ/FLA, and we an do a lot of that ourselves by beating them when we play them. (CBJ three times, PHI and FLA once)

ATLL765
man i really don't want to pick outside of the top 5We're not picking in the top 5. I'm pretty sure it'll be a pick somewhere between 6-8. I don't think we could do anything to finish lower than Carolina, Edmonton, Arizona, Buffalo or Toronto. It's possible that we'll even manage to stay ahead of Ottawa with 58 points and Columbus with 56 points in the standings too, but at least those teams have 3 and 2 games in hand respectively. I don't think we'll catch any of the other teams in the western conference, so I think the lowest we'll pick is 8th. Daniel
According to LeBrun, Zidlicky has not yet been contacted about waiving his NTC. I suppose it's not a huge deal one way or the other. I remember reading something that Ruutu was asked to waive his the day of the trade deadline, so unless we're talking about a Kessel or a Spezza, there's generally not a lot of drama to it. BostonNala370
I think Lou has a verbal deal in place, a Jagr trade and Jagr has agreed to the trade. They have cut his playing minutes, resting him. He hasn't done much in games sort of coasting. He was at a volunteer practice today but did his own thing. He was taking with the coach. We'll see. Daniel
This is interesting: Craig CustanceVerified account @CraigCustance Asking price for Chris Stewart in one negotiation was a B+ prospect. No picks. Not as high as some of the speculation I've heard on him. I don't know what a B+ prospect is, but I think Jagr and Zidlicky are both more attractive than Chris Stewart is based on the superficial numbers anyway. Triumph
I really don't know why anyone would be interested in Chris Stewart at all, but given how NHL GMs think about career arcs I guess I'm not surprised. I'm not sure Stewart is better than an average 3rd line player at this point - he's always been a possession drag, and he's not doing much to make up for it these days. Anecdotally, he looked slow as hell when NJ played Buffalo. I hope whatever team gets him signs him, because NJ needs him like a hole in the head. You actually need 7 technically. That's why I believe it's "another hole in the head". Sorry. Don't know what possesed me to write this. Triumph
I hate Chris Stewart, always so overrated. I dont get his hype at every trade deadline. He put up 28 goals and 64 points in his 2nd season in the league. He's big and he hits and he fights. General managers fall all over themselves to get a player like this - St. Louis dealt a guy they drafted 1st overall not 5 years before to get him (and Shattenkirk). The trouble is they don't know how aging curves work so they think he's probably got 5 years left, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's out of the league in 2. NJDevs4978
lol well now everyone's 'nightmare' scenario is upon us...close enough at the deadline not to sell if another couple days go our way here and OOT.
HellOnICE
Jesus fvck lkjdfsa;kljdaflkjfdsalkjafdslfadsjkldfaslafdslkfadsl;kds;lk This truly is the nightmare scenario. I mean Lou needs to go if he doesn't sell. The playoffs won't get us anywhere. I don't care about them.
NJDevs4978
In a sense though if they go 6-0 on this homestand they kind of deserve a shot. And making the playoffs isn't nothing. Their level of play would have to go up at SOME point to make the playoffs. I'd still rather sell if they're six points out, but if it's <5? The other problem being there's not much to sell unless you want to stock up on thirds for the role guys like Tootoo and Bernier. Problem is the guys you want to trade: Jagr - might well go either way since he's unhappy now Zidlicky - might not go either way since he likes it here and has a NTC Ryder/Havlat - are probably going to get garbage returns if they do get dealt Tootoo/Bernier/Gomez - could get a 3rd or 4th but Lou might want to re-sign them so you don't really trade rentals you try to re-sign Edited February 25, 2015 by NJDevs4978
devilsrule33
It's not a big deal unless you have no faith in Lou to do what's right regardless if they are winning. Even Florida got rid of a FA to be that they weren't signing tonight. Jagr and Ryder want to be dealt. I'd be very happy to deal Zidlicky, but who knows if he wants to go anywhere. All 3 players have been irrelevant on this little run and should be traded regardless. The schedule has been a fvcking joke. Buffalo, Vancouver on a B2B, The Hurricanes on a B2B, then the Coyotes. Got three backup goalies in that span. 38 shots against the Coyotes. Lets get real for a minute.
