Lou being sued

“Lamoriello physically positioned himself in a chair at the base of the employee elevator of the arena so that he could watch these individuals pass by with their boxes of personal belongings in order to leave the building directly after they were fired and to laugh as they passed by, as to take credit for their firing,” the lawsuit adds.

Lmfao... That's pretty cold of Lou if true.

I wonder which parts are true and which parts are just a bitter ex-employee trying to get even.  Like I really believe the part about him turning down a lucrative position at MetLife Stadium to stick with JVB when he was having massive financial troubles.

But I wouldn't be too surprised if at least one or two of the things in the article are true.

I can't believe they included this in the article:

"And inexplicably, the bodies of three potential witnesses whom Krezwick had been hoping to have testify on his behalf were found lifeless, floating along a stretch of the Passaic River between Kearny and Harrison. Lou denied involvement and said he would not speak further on the subject."

I imagine that would be the easiest claim to either confirm or debunk. And yes, very very cold, but really how could that be true?

Yeah I just can't see a guy as professional as Lou doing something so immature, petty, and juvenile. That's a whale of a claim. Edited by MadDog2020

lol that's pretty bad ass if true. I mean Lou was the only sheriff in town for 20 years then this guy takes half of his turf, I believe Lou would have a smile on his face as he watches him walk out the door.

That being said it's hard to feel bad for the Vice President of facilities at AEG. I'm sure he can afford plenty of tissues without this money.

So I read the lawsuit.  (I downloaded as a pdf, if there's a way for me to post it on the board, let me know and I will).

My opinion is that it won't last long.  Basically, this guy is saying that but for Lou bad mouthing him, the new owners would have kept him on and not hired Weber.  From what I recall, and as the lawsuit implicitly admits, is that Weber was part of the Harris/Blitzer team from the start.  You can do away with the case pretty quickly by having Harris, Blitzer or O'Neill testify that this guy was never getting the job in the first place.

The only other thing that might be going on is to try and force a quick settlement by adding allegations about the discussions with Barroway, which I imagine the NHL and the Devils do not want to be made the subject of discovery.  The suit subtlely implies that Lou deep sixed the Barroway deal to spite the plaintiff, which is utter horsesh!t.  A judge though is supposed to give a plaintiff the benefit of the doubt at the start of a lawsuit, but that can only go so far.

Put it on dropbox or google drive.

Via the post Cash-strapped Devils owner Jeffrey Vanderbeek likely has until Sept. 30 to find a buyer for the team or risk having the league take it over.

Vanderbeek may have a rooting interest in Barroway because the lawyer would likely keep Vanderbeek as CEO, sources said.

If this is true... I think it highlights just as piss poor things under VBK.   It might be out of character of Lou for sure... but if he saw this as the last bit of that regime... hell, I'd position myself by the door to, to watch the crew leave.

I don't know the facts, but the court will determine whether or not this is bvllsh!t.

But, I must say, that I find it odd that this guy would commit corporate suicide by shooting off a law suit against Lou.  There must be a foundation for it...

Why is this suit coming now and not several months ago?  I guess maybe the guy had to find a job first.  Either way, I'd believe pretty much everything about it except for Lou laughing at the fired employees and I'm not sure I believe that Lou would sabotage this guy from working with another NHL team.

Lou is all about keeping things professional. I really doubt he'd laugh at an employee as they left after being fired. I think he'd tell an employee straight up that they're incompetent, but he wouldn't go mean girls on someone by having them fired then laughing and going na na na na boo boo as they left the building.

Even if he did, that's not what the basis of the suit is. He's claiming but for Lou he would have gotten a job with whoever the new owner would have been, not that no other team would hire him, or that his reputation was ruined (this isn't a defamation suit).

The suit is pretty close to dead on arrival in my opinion. I suppose the guy can say there's a chance that O'Neill/Blitzer/Harris will have emails where they asked about hiring him and Lou said bad things about him, or something to that effect. But pretty implausible since the new owners fired everyone and were bringing in a new management team no matter what.

It's also totally unreasonable for this guy to rely on Vanderbeek's supposed promise that he would make sure he would get a new contract with whoever the new owner would be.
