95Crash
I have no doubt in my mind Elias is only at about 60-70% fit (which still makes him twice as useful as most of the rest of the team on any given day).As the series has gone on maybe the Canes have realised this and seen that they can focus on closing down Parise without the secondary threat of Elias. I feel sorry for Patty, he has had such a good year, and hopefully he can pull off some game 7 heroics. I've read a few posts on here saying that Elias is probably hurt. But I haven't seen anything written about it on the blogs or in the newspapers. Maybe I missed it. Can you recall -- or does anyone recall -- when exactly Elias might've hurt himself? Was there an on-ice incident that I'm forgetting? He scored a goal in Game 1, and I thought he was going to have a great series. But ever since then, he hasn't done much of anything -- a real disappointment, in my opinion. That being said, Patty is still one of my favorite Devils players and it kills me to think that he can't make a difference in this series. I'm pulling for him to have a huge game tomorrow! Go Devils. Whatever's bothering Elias probably didn't happen to him in this series- I think this goes back to that nagging injury he had at the end of the season that forced him to a miss a few games. I believe most people feel he never fully healed from that injury that left him sitting most of those games towards the end of the season, and its still nagging him. Not that he got hurt during this series.
