JWomp Posted August 16, 2017 Share Posted August 16, 2017 Very quiet on here...anyone add anything new lately? Here's my latest pickup - Mike Rupp's NHL debut jersey. It's an 02-03 white set 1 that Rupp wore in his first NHL game on 1/13/03 against the Florida Panthers. Much like his finish to the 2003 season when he scored the game-winning goal in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, it was a storybook NHL debut for Rupp. Called up from Albany to make his debut on his 23rd birthday, Rupp scored two goals in his first game including the game-winner (and had a third goal disallowed - so close to the hat trick). He went on to wear the jersey in 6 games, scoring his first four NHL goals while wearing it and also picking up his first NHL assist and first NHL fight in the jersey. The jersey has really nice wear considering it was only worn in 6 games (roughly 9-10 repairs including some really cool clusters of repairs on the shoulders, where excessive board burns had to be sewn shut) and it is photo matched to all 6 home games he wore it. Rupp never lived up to the hype of being a first-round pick, but he has always been a favorite of mine since his impressive NHL debut, the 2003 Finals, and throughout his two stints with the Devils, so I'm very excited to add this to my collection. I picked up a Rod Pelley w A and a Nick Palmieri Lowell Devils jersey in the Meigray sale. Couldn't pass up that deal. Also have a beauty coming in the mail later this week! Even in years I say that I won't get one I usually do. I did end up selling my 2015 (Gelinas) and 2016 (Zajac) ones eventually lol. I got the 2017 retro night gamer of Zajac this year and I think I will keep it because 1) It has the 100th patch and 2) It's the first retro night I have photomatched (and to about 5-6 getty images as well as a bunch taken by me at the game). I actually got one of those retro Edge's from Meigray last month and sent it to EPS to be an Elias.
